My first taste of Warhammer 40K was the 3rd edition starter set and this Land Speeder took me straight back to the good old days. An awesome sculpt from @warhammerofficial albeit I’m sure they don’t recommend mounting it in this fashion 🐠🤿. It was a bit of a rush, but I’m glad I got this finished in time for @fenmodelshow.ely. Looking forward to getting this on the table 🎨 (if it survives the journey 😬)

Plinth, fish, coral and resin is from @greenstuffworld

Here is my entry for the #windwalkers challenge by @spraygunner hosted by @thebaselair . The criteria for this challenge was to create a piece that illustrated the effects of wind. Judged by pro painters @lyla.mev & @zambiesdecays I couldn’t resist. Who better to pull out of the pile of shame than Njal Stormcaller 🐺. This was a really fun project and trying to meet the brief was a real challenge. @warhammerofficial #paintingwarhammer #windwalkers #thebaselair #warhammer40000 by @nbminiatures

Jacob Gregorian is finished (for now)

I was blown away by the busts displayed at Fen Model Show and decided to pick up this awesome sculpt from @amber_works_studios This was my second attempt at a bust and I set myself the goal of pushing NMM. Working on a larger scale really challenged me to think differently and I’ve definitely learned allot from this project. Huge shout out to @lucas_miniatureart for the amazing box art, I’ve been staring at it allot over the last 4 weeks. Plinth from @taromodelmaker and painted with brushes from @tesseractminis

Once the dust settles it will be time to ask for feedback and refinements 💪

Had a black at the Warhammer Open. From taking part in the Hobby Challenge to rounding off the weekend with painting classes from two titans of the hobby @kaha.katarzyna.gorska and @albert.moreto.font. I’ve been around long enough to know high performing professionals don’t always make great teachers but these two absolutely smashed it. Plenty of new skills to practice 👨‍🎨

What do you do when you’re procrastinating on your current project? Start another of course. This was painted up for the Full Metal challenge on @thebaselair presented by @turbodork. The challenge was to paint something celebrating TMM and the Legio Custodes Shield Captain was my canvas of choice. Hope you like her.

After a couple of months of pushing and trying to develop as a painter it’s nice to just throw some colours about and see what happens. Seeing the Gobsmacked challenge from @ebayminiaturerescues and @goobertown_hobbies on @thebaselair was plenty enough excuse to paint this guy up. Got this a while back as part of a made to order from @warhammerofficial It’s been a while since I’ve had to paint a metal figure but it soon came back to me. Love these old sculpts.

Apologies in advance for the volume and quality of photos.

Now the dust has settled on an amazing @fenmodelshow.ely I can reflect on what an amazing weekend it was. Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat and give advice. This was my first comp and it has certainly left me wanting more. A huge congratulations to all the winners, the standard on display was outstanding.

I never expected anything so to walk away with two commended for creative storytelling standard and figures standard was fantastic. Despite this by the end of the weekend, it’s hard not to want to be on that stage. Plenty more work to do!

To top it all off I was lucky enough to win a very special FMS themed travel case crafted by @bushido_painter. The pressure is on the paint something worthy enough to go in such an amazing piece of craftsmanship. Rest assured it will be making a return next year.

Plenty of bits from @taromodelmaker and finally got my hands on some brushes from @tesseractminis. I’ve seen some great reviews on these and i cant wait to give them a try.

I also managed to try out the R9 photography setup from @redgrassgames #seeitwithr9 lovely bit of kit

Until next time 🫡🫶

End of day 1 @fenmodelshow.ely and what a whirlwind it’s been 🤯

It’s been amazing to meet the artists some genuinely lovely people. Seeing their work in person has been invaluable. I’m sure there are loads more I have missed but thankfully we still have tomorrow 😊. Apologies in advance for the poor pictures, they certainly do not do their artwork justice.

Ely is a beautiful venue ☀️
