The @ncaa just changed how long your junior golfer can play college golf. 👇

In June 2026, the D1 Cabinet adopted a new age-based eligibility model:

✅ Up to 5 full years of eligibility
❌ Old rule was 4 seasons in 5 calendar years

Here’s the catch that every junior golf family needs to circle:

To get the full 5 years, your athlete must enroll in college NO LATER than the academic year after their 19th birthday.

That one line changes everything if you’re weighing:
• A reclass
• A gap year
• A post-grad year for more tournament reps

More reps sounds great — until it costs your kid a year of eligibility on the back end.

The families that plan for this will win. The ones that don’t will find out the hard way.

Save this. Send it to a golf parent. Talk to your kid’s coach before you make any timeline decisions.

Comment “FIVE” and I’ll DM you the full recruiting timeline breakdown.

Affectionately nicked The Law Man 🤠

When I met @lawson_heffernan for the first time our conversation was extremely streamlined, it was about how we were going to make his dream to play @ncaagolf @ncaa Div I golf come to fruition.

Team Heffernan put a game plan together @jenniferwharram @danheff11 @pennyb1975 @huddy2106 @oakland_greensgolf @proimpactgolfstudio @pro_impact_golf_inc

Everyone had their jobs, support tactics and responsibilities as these privileges don’t come easy but inevitably @lawson_heffernan had to work his tail off and get better, show his improvements through tournament scores, travel a ton, practice even more and stay positive through the entire recruiting process as there were many decisions that had to be made, on and off the course. This was 100% on Lawson!

He had to show his guns weren’t just smoke! He had to build his weapon arsenal in order to have all the shots needed to play golf at the next level. I’m extremely proud to say The Law Man has all the bullets to hit any shot.

He has worked for this, he deserves this and vows to continue improving his skill set and overall game in order to help @txsogolf rise up the rankings.

To coach @shankle.willie @_sylvia_m thank you in advance for taking a shot on a Shooter from small town Ontario, Canada! I promise his game is anything but small! 🤜🏽🤛🏿

Law, you’re officially a Tiger!

🎙️⛳️ New episode alert Sunday Night at 7pm — and this one is a game-changer for junior golf families.

We sat down with Matt Wells from @p3recruits to talk about “The Schools Nobody Talks About But Should.” If you’ve been laser-focused on the big-name programs, you might be sleeping on some incredible opportunities for your junior golfer.

Matt breaks down the new @ncaa @ncaagolf “five years to play five years” eligibility rule and what it means for your family’s recruiting game plan. This is the kind of inside knowledge that can open real doors — and we’re bringing it straight to you.

New episode of the GSD Golf Podcast is live — go give it a listen. Season 4 keeps delivering. 🙌
