Pretty in pink. 💗 Before the lights went down at Setting the Stage, our guests made their grand entrance on the pink carpet at CineSpace Studios. Sequins, bow ties, big smiles, and a whole lot of Festival friends who clearly got the memo. Last night, we set the stage for 80. 🌸 Guests stepped onto the pink carpet and into Stage 8 at CineSpace Studios for an evening that felt like a reunion and a premiere all at once. Old friends found each other, new friends were made, and everyone raised a glass of the night’s signature cocktail, The 80th Bloom. Then the lights went down. Eight past presidents took us decade by decade through the milestones, the traditions, the music, and the Queens that made this Festival what it is. A few fun announcements and more than a few surprises followed. If there’s one thing the night made clear, it’s this: Festival magic isn’t something we create. It’s something we become a part of. This Festival belongs to all of us, and it’s only possible because of this community. Thank you for helping us set the stage. The 80th is just getting started. 💗 #NCAzaleaFestival #80thAzaleaFestival #FestivalMagic #SettingTheStage Venue: @cinespacestudios Lighting: @rc4wireless - Tommy Sullivan Set Director: Jungle Shaughnessy Audio: @regaleventsdj Florals: @designsbydillonnc Catering: @localstavern Drink: @adamsbevnc Glassware + Bar Goods: @partysuppliersandrentals Rentals: @marthamydearrentals Props: @lltentandpartyrentals Pipe + Drape: @perfecttouchrental Trolly: @azalealimousine “Actors’ Trailers”: @rexandsons_rv Mobile Restroom: @rentajohnnc Photo + Video: @adamgilbertfilms Creative Agency: @springerstudios Marketing Agency: Colonial Marketing by @ncazaleafest

What we know today as the Azalea Festival Street Fair began much more simply as a sidewalk art show. 🎨 Each year, the Queen would even take part in a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the event. This 1978 drawing was created to promote the art show, though the artist behind it remains unknown. Another little piece of Festival history, preserved. 🤗 Have you applied for the 80th NC Azalea Festival street fair?
