Taking a slow stroll through Maruyama Park last in Sapporo was easily one of my favorite memories from the trip. Everyone usually comes to Sapporo for the massive cherry blossom views, but if you look a little closer, the park is full of these quiet, understated details that make it feel alive.

Sapporo After Dark

Sapporo, Japan, 2026

These dazzling city lights around the Susukino district made Sapporo feel even more photogenic at night.

Here are some snaps I took while walking through Susukino hunting for some delicious ramen.

The mix of neon signs, lanterns, traffic lights, and busy streets gave the area a lively, cinematic atmosphere throughout the night.

Sinking Bell Tower

Ilocos Norte, Philippines, 2026

The Sinking Bell Tower stands near Saint William’s Cathedral in Laoag, one of the city’s most recognizable historical landmarks.

Built during the Spanish colonial period, the tower is known for gradually sinking into the ground over the centuries. Its weathered walls, old arches, and overgrown details give it a character that feels like time has left its mark on every corner.

Light and Faith

Ilocos Norte, Philippines, 2026

Stepping inside Paoay Church feels completely different from admiring its famous exterior.

It’s so quiet and peaceful inside. The light streaming through the stained glass, the flickering candles by the offering racks, and the long central aisle leading toward the altar give the place a very solemn and intimate atmosphere.

Paoay Church

Ilocos Norte, Philippines, 2026

One of the stops we made around Ilocos Norte was Paoay Church, and seeing it up close, it’s easy to understand why it has survived for centuries. Construction began in 1694, and the church was built with massive buttresses to help withstand earthquakes, earning it the name “Earthquake Baroque.”

The weathered stone, huge walls, and dramatic sky made it one of those places I couldn't help but photograph from every angle.

Hotel Luna

Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, 2026

Really loved our stay at Hotel Luna (@hotel_luna_vigan). It’s practically right next to Calle Crisologo, which made exploring so easy.

What makes this place so special is that it’s actually a museum hotel. Walking through the hallways feels like browsing a gallery, with masterworks by Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Guillermo Tolentino right on display. Combining that rich heritage with a comfortable stay was definitely a highlight of the trip.

Plaza Burgos

Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, 2026

Just beyond Calle Crisologo, Plaza Burgos feels less like a heritage attraction and more like a part of everyday Vigan. Named after Fr. Jose Burgos of GOMBURZA, it carries a piece of history while still being a place where locals gather, kids play, and calesas wait nearby. With shops, restaurants, and St. Paul’s Cathedral surrounding the plaza, there’s always something happening around here.

Timeless Vigan

A Day on Calle Crisologo

Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, 2026

Spent some time walking around Calle Crisologo, one of the most iconic parts of Vigan’s historic district. The cobblestone streets and preserved ancestral houses are a reminder of the city’s Spanish colonial past, mixed with strong Chinese and Filipino influences.

Vigan was established in the 16th century and was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
