Over the years, I’ve had many goodbyes in AIESEC, and to some I cried, while others made me feel like crying. But this one, the tears have refused to leave my eyes because it feels kinda surreal. Maybe because I always found a way back to AIESEC in those years, even though I know deep down this is actually my last time.

In 6 years, I’ve held over 16+ roles, managed over 10+ projects, attended 14 conferences, worked with close to 18 teams, worked in 4 different functional areas, interacted with over 3,000+ people, and traveled to over 16 states and 2 countries, building relationships across borders.

This is not a goodbye message to brag about how committed or consistent I am or was, but to truly let you know what AIESEC meant to me as someone who would easily detach from things, and in a time where organizations made it easy to do so. AIESEC made me who I am today and who I’ll ever be in the future. It gave me courage and shaped my mind and existence through experiences, intellectually, emotionally, and professionally.

The long hour meetings, the O2Os, the multiple days of planning and coming up with strategies, then executing them, the filling of unending sheets, the arguments, the inside jokes, the loud laughs, the roll calls, the chants, the traveling in groups, and even the sleepless nights. Oh, to be loved.

AIESEC shaped my formative youth years, and in infinite lifetimes I wouldn’t have it any other way. Till death, I’ll keep preaching the blueblood sermon to whomever has ears to listen. To live and love is to be an AIESECer, and with no regrets.

I’ll stop here now because no amount of words can quantify my experience as an AIESECer over the years. So, thank you, AIESEC in Calabar, @aiesecinnigeria , MC Trellis, and thank you, @aiesecglobal .

And for the last time…

Hey AIESEC! 💙 by @ndive_chisom

One of the biggest reasons I believe in AIESEC’s programs is because I experienced one of them myself.

Going on exchange didn’t just give me the opportunity to travel, it challenged my perspective, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and helped me grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

So, taking a session on our exchange programs as Programs Manager for @aiesecinnigeria wasn’t just about explaining Global opportunities. It was about sharing what these experiences can truly do for a young person based of my experience.

Every exchange starts with one decision: to say yes to growth.

I hope more young people choose to take that step because some of the best opportunities are waiting on the other side of your comfort zone.
