Volume up 🔊

Hear that whistling noise when the mourning doves takeoff? That's not a vocalization. That's the sound of turbulence created by their wings.

This sound can alert other birds to danger. The beautiful part is: the harder they flap, the louder the alarm. And all of this happens without impacting the birds' ability to fly away.

Despite their name, green frogs can come in a variety of colors.
