@eczema_uk shared this photo on Saturday and it really resonated with me. On this ‘Atopic Eczema Day’ it sums it up perfectly. I feel so thankful that my dermatologist NHS tried dupixent_dupilumab on me and it worked/works….&my life has changed dramatically! It was a long road of steroids, creams, blood tests and many other tablets over a life time. If I knew what I know now (&we had, had the meds) my life could have been so very different….but I wouldn’t be me!!! So If you know people or see people around that are suffering with Eczema:
Yes - it’s sore, No I can’t stop scratching, No I don’t know why I’m Red (well I do but it’s a long story), No I can’t use that cream, No I can’t do that as I’ll probably over heat and make it worse, yes I’m hot in this (but I can’t wear short sleeves or shorts because I’m embarrassed) We all cope differently with it but I spent too long being embarrassed. So I now try to help support, encourage and champion others! While still looking after my condition. So thankful for those working hard to make it easier for those suffering…long may it continue! Thank you @eczema_uk

What a road trip! 2657kilometers later and we are home! We have had a fantastic time and now trying to make sense of it all. We hopped in and out of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and into Germany into the Black Forest. Such a beautiful country and area!
A great time being out in nature and learning a lot of history on the way! Now for some normality…a sink in the same room I cook in, a bed that doesn’t need to be put up and down and ‘facilities’ I only have to share with my family. There are many things I will treasure visiting Ypres and Dunkirk will be forever with me (for those that know me-yes I cried) as will the couple who brought their pet parrot on holiday who could sing the great escape tune! Never a dull moment x #vanlife #fordtransit #transitcamper #familytravels #naturecalls by @ne_pottering_on

Sunny May Half Term in Fred (our Transit camper) A trip to visit family in Woodbridge Suffolk with an evening in Felixstowe. Then onto Southwold to stay in the beautiful @pigsinblankets_southwold campsite where we witnessed 3 lambs being born (a trip highlight!) then spent the rest of the day wandering round Southwold before popping to @doh.pizzeria for tea. We made our way up to Beccles for canoeing then onto family in Kings Lynn for more water activities!@tossit.uk has now become our favourite camping game….just wish I was good at it! Back to the North East where the sun is still shining…for now! #familytime #vanadventures #suffolkcoast #norfolk #timeontheriver by @ne_pottering_on

First van trip of 2026….the sun shone and the rain stayed away! Let’s hope all trips this year are like this. A circular walk round Blanchland with a quick pint in the @lord_crewe_arms to finish up the walk. We then headed up to @tarset_tor for a nights camping; to say it was cold was an understatement but who doesn’t love an open fire, staring at the stars all whist wrapped in a blanket! Always good for the soul. As we headed home we popped into Corbridge for some gift inspiration in @refoundobjects and picked up a coffee and some tasty treats from @grantsbakery for the journey home - the perfect end to our camping trip….just need to get some more booked in the diary now! #northumberland #campingwithfriends #easyweekend #getoutside_adventures_uk #northumberlandcamping by @ne_pottering_on

A beautiful afternoon visiting the new ‘perfume’ exhibition by Yann Nguema @pparkmuseum we will definitely be back! It is stunning; I could sit in there for hours! by @ne_pottering_on

A wet weekend in Northumberland. Walking from Craster (obviously picked up kippers from @craster_kippers before we set off) to @theshipinnlow taking in a very wet Dunstanburgh castle on route! A great afternoon of leg stretching but also being battered by the wind and rain! So thankful that we weren’t in the van this week and instead enjoyed stay @alnwick.glamping.pods - back to reality…but at least we travelled home in blue skies!! #northumberland #weekendsawaywalking #andrelax #northeastengland #northumberlandcoast by @ne_pottering_on

When we first found out that @djsaracox / @bbcradio2 was doing the 5 marathons in 5 days for @bbccin and coming into Richmond I knew we had to try and get to see her. I’m so glad we did! What a woman! We are cheering you on and we will continue to laugh and cry all the way with you Sara! You’ve got this! #childreninneed #saracox #bbcradio2 #charity #pudseytopudsey by @ne_pottering_on

A week of mountains, walking, rain and a lot of lazy evenings! We left Fred (the van) at home this year and stayed in a house! To say it was good for the soul is an understatement. The Scottish Highlands are one our favourite places so many memories and lots of space to breathe…..until next time x #familyadventures #dupilumab #glenetive #glencoe #westcoastscotland #visitoban #familytime #visitscotland #atopicdermatitis #explore #happy #dupixentjourney #showthemtheworld #hikingwithkids #outdoorsisfree by @ne_pottering_on

2 weeks of fabulous adventures in North West Spain with our reliable camper Fred! From Portsmouth to Santander, then exploring Llanes and Picos de Europa, before tracing the coast to Luarca. Breathtaking beaches and mountains; we'll definitely return! by @ne_pottering_on

Our annual trip to @harrogateflowershow and it did not disappoint…the sun even made an appearance. It was great to take the girls arms with a scavenger hunt so I could concentrate on what plants were coming home with us. Highlight this year was the show gardens; we loved the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe! And my eldest enjoyed the floristry demonstrations, my youngest the ice cream…..you can’t win them all! 😬🤣 #familyadventures #spring #harrogateflowershow #flowers homegrown #gardenlife #gardeningismytherapy #girlwhogrows #gardener #homegrower #potager #plantsforbees #cottagegarden #theunexpected #Gardeninspiration by @ne_pottering_on

As of Friday last week I have now completed up to my level 4 in Swimming! From being a non swimming(I did my 10ms in primary school) to being able to swim front crawl, backstroke and do basic survival stuff! It’s not pretty but I love it!!!! I never went in the water due to the chlorine affecting my excema and asthma and my fear of it. Watching my children learn to swim, love it and now swim train, I always felt like I was missing out on something. Now I can join them….they now give me pointers! All of this is now possible due to getting the right medication and excellent adult lessons from @tees_active Anything really is possible! I am over the moon!!! #swimengland #loveswimming #dupixentjourney #dupixent #dupilumab #excemalife #dematology #dermatologists #medication #newlife #mentalhealth #dermatitis #derma_warrior #thisgirlcan by @ne_pottering_on
