We’re 17 days away 😳!
We are excited to host our first event: Chocolate Wombs on Saturday, April 11th.
Chocolate Wombs is a safe space for the ENTIRE community to learn about Black Maternal Health.
Meet birth workers, learn what resources are available and more.

Yes, we know, Chocolate Wombs began in 2023 under K4Kreative 😅 BUT now we are shifting so the community can get the full benefits of what the event was intended for!!

Special thanks to our sponors @iamyogistudios and @k4kreativeinc
Are you interested in sponsoring or donating to the event? DM @k4kuumba or email us at k4kuumba@gmail.com

In honor of World Doula Week 🤍
A little bit about the person behind the work.

Being a doula isn’t just what I do… it’s how I show up.
For my clients, for my community, and for my own family.

It’s advocacy.
It’s presence.
It’s holding space in moments that change everything.

And at the core of it all
I’m just a mom, building something meaningful, one family at a time.

Grateful to be in this work. Always.

I’m so grateful to have been invited into these spaces and to be learning so much along this journey. A special thank you to @onelovemidwifery for welcoming me into the homebirth space, and to her incredible midwife assistant, @longislandborn_ 💛

In the world of doulas and birth workers, mentorship is more than just guidance—it’s a profound connection that fosters growth, understanding, and love. 🌱✨

Being a mentor means sharing your knowledge and experiences, creating a safe space for others to learn and flourish. It’s about building relationships rooted in respect, where both mentor and mentee grow together, enriching the entire community.

As we navigate the beautiful journey of birth work, let’s celebrate the power of mentorship. It’s through these connections that we empower one another, uplift our practices, and cultivate a supportive environment for all.

Let’s honor the mentors who inspire us and commit to being mentors ourselves, passing on the wisdom and love that fuels our passion. Together, we can create a ripple effect of growth and understanding that transforms our community! 💖

✨ Exciting news for maternal healthcare in NY! Senate Bill S5992A ensures that expecting & new moms have the right to a designated doula during delivery & postpartum care. Plus, hospitals must provide a directory of doulas for easier access! 💕
This bill aims to improve birth outcomes & address racial disparities through continuous doula support. A big step forward for maternal health!

🌟 2024: A Year of Launching, Learning, and Growing 🌟

As I sit and reflect on this past year, one word comes to mind: Transformation.

This year, I took a leap of faith and officially launched Nectar Birthing Collective, turning a dream into a reality. Through this journey, I’ve had the honor of supporting families, building meaningful community partnerships, and creating spaces for maternal care that celebrate education, culture, and wellness.

✨ What 2024 Taught Me:
🌸 Dream Big: Starting a business while balancing family life taught me to trust my vision and keep pushing forward, even when the path felt uncertain. 💛 Build Together: From collaborating with local businesses to connecting with moms and families, I’ve learned the power of community to make an impact.
🎓 Education First: Whether through workbooks, nesting parties, or digital resources, empowering families with knowledge remains at the heart of everything I do.
🤝 Find Balance: Juggling roles as a wife, mother, and business owner is no easy feat. This year reminded me to give myself grace, lean on my village, and embrace imperfection.

✨ What’s Next in 2025:
The new year is all about expansion and growth. Nectar Birthing Collective will continue to bloom, offering even more ways to nurture families through:

🐝 Reimagined Wellness Offerings: Live and virtual events focused on holistic wellness and community care.
📈 More Growth: Expanding our reach and deepening our impact on families in Long Island and beyond.
🌐 Innovative Resources: New digital tools, workbooks, and education to empower every step of the journey.

I’m excited to keep dreaming, growing, and building something beautiful—not just for my family, but for every family we serve. Thank you for being part of this journey, and here’s to an even brighter 2025!

💛 With love,
