I’m so excited to finally share this book with readers!

Tākapu (Australasian gannets) are extraordinary birds…graceful in the air, fearless when they plunge into the ocean at incredible speeds, and devoted parents that return to the same nesting colonies year after year. It was a real privilege to spend time learning about these remarkable seabirds and bringing their story to life through words and illustrations.

A huge thank you to everyone at @allenandunwinnz for believing in this project and helping make it a reality, and to everyone who has supported my books along the way. I hope Tākapu inspires children and adults alike to look a little more closely at these amazing birds when they visit our coasts.

NOT LONG NOW! In just two weeks our new book, KEKENO, Curious Explorer will be wandering into bookstores all over Aotearoa! The story follows a young fur seal for the first year of his life - how he learns to swim, dive and catch fish, and how he finally leaves the rocky shore, where he is born, to explore the wide world. As you can see Kekeno is a real cutie pie 🥰 🦭@scholasticnz by @nedbarraud
