Lower stems are finally stitched! This was the last step, and I'm so glad it's finished.

At what precise moment did my studio become a Sacred Hearts mini factory?

After being sidelined for days with persistent back pain, picking up my hoop again feels so good.

I currently have three of these Sacred Heart pieces in the works! For this specific one, I decided to leave the cross for now—I’m planning to add it using a different technique later.
I wonder what do you think of this approach. Any ideas?

I’ve always found silk shading to be one of those techniques that demands patience. I struggled through the first few, but by the 7th bloom, I think I’ve finally got the hang of it! 🌸🪡

Proof that repetition is where the magic happens.
This was a wonderful class taken through the @crewelworkco during the Lady's Anne's Festival.

I picked up again this project encouraged by @dimasantina who also enjoys Punto Antico embroidery.

This is real time stitching btw 🪡😉. Yes, it's very slow.

❤️‍🔥Sometimes we never get to see the ripple effect of the things we make with our hands and our hearts. Today, we did. Mónica @needleandpaper shared this story with me today and I couldn’t help but smile and feel so inspired.

🙏 She gifted the Sacred Heart she stitched during our last free class in collaboration with @ecclesiasticalsewing to the chaplain at her daughters’ school before he moved to a new mission.

He is an artist as well and was so touched that he made her this beautiful drawing of St Joseph as a thank you.

🙏 We rarely get to see where something made with love will end up, or whose life it might touch. Sometimes an act of generosity keeps travelling long after we’ve let it go ❤️

❤️ taken in Melbourne, Florida by @needleandpaper

I picked up my hoop as a way to keep my hands busy and my mind quiet during a dark time for my home country, Venezuela.
Stitch by stitch, this project became my refuge from being consumed by the news.
Finishing today on the Feast of Santiago—a day rooted in protection and pilgrimage—couldn't be more fitting. Santiago (St. James) is a symbol of strength, protection, and endurance through hardship.
.
Threading hope into every stitch, always holding Venezuela in my heart. 🇻🇪💛💙❤️

Here she's in her element. I hesitated to let her bring her project, but fortunately I said yes.
The following is a quick search on the benefits of needle crafts for kids:

🧶Boosts critical thinking: Planning steps to bring an idea to life gets those brain gears turning.

🧶Builds resilience: Mistakes happen! Crafting teaches kids to problem-solve instead of getting frustrated.

🧶 Supports reluctant readers: Reading instructions is still reading! Plus, busy hands keep busy minds focused.
