I can't believe today marks a year since I was diagnosed w/ Autism 🫂🫶🏾This past year has been tough, but most beautiful journey of rediscovering myself and truly understanding 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝑨𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒂? Being diagnosed at 30, I’d say it’s probably similar to many other Autists’ stories: that feeling of relief where the puzzle is finally starting to make sense, but at the same time, a deep sadness. Sadness for the younger you who struggled in silence, not knowing why you felt so misunderstood. This diagnosis has given me a new lens to view my past and a deeper compassion for myself. It’s a journey of healing and learning to celebrate my unique way of seeing the world.Fitness has been so therapeutic of finding the beautiful interlink between the physical and mental. Pole fitness has been a healer, walking is my stress relief, and the gym is my sanctuary. They've all contributed in helping me find a new level of strength and peace of mind.@affirm.arts - Cannot forget a special shoutout to my amazing Wellbeing coach, Monette (you’re a rockstar girl) 🤭🤘🏾. Working with you has been so impactful and rewarding. Learning different tools to manage stress and regulate emotions has made a massive difference.
