I finally got this old gal up and running, abet slowly as we so desire and with a servo motor to boot. I guess thats why we call them walking foot machines and not runners. Its running vintage polyester thread from just north of Philadelphia for added street thread. Hehe. by @nefariousengineer

My first garden that’s derived completely from seeds. Unfortunately my stash of pumpkin seeds wrapped in old blueprints are still hiding somewhere in the shop. by @nefariousengineer

I’m so stoked to already be eating from my first rooftop garden to be entirely generated from seeds! The plan for next year is to replace the overgrown side yard with a pumpkin patch as I figure that i’ll have found my hoard of pumpkin seeds wrapped in old blueprints by then. by @nefariousengineer

Wood intensive boat construction for the win? For my second Checkmate rebuild I’m experimenting with a construction based around construction lmber and loctite PL3+ polyurethane adhesives. I suspect that i’ll be able to best the strength/weight of both traditionally constructed boats and coosa construction by treating wood as the structural element that it is. Wood is great at dissipating loads and integrated into the design will be “breath points” to combat rotting. #breathableboats #checkmateboats #evinrude #screamandfly by @nefariousengineer

I’m finally getting around to glassing up the experimental four point hydroplane. I actually used carbon fiber tow strands and a super thickened mix of microballoons and raka epoxy. It’s not particularly structural but i don’t want it to get dinged up like a surfboard either. #raka #rakaepoxy by @nefariousengineer
