It was a great pleasure to display some of my paintings at the group show, titled "Eyes Wide Shut", held at the Firetti Contemporary, bringing creative artists together from the MENA region.

I would like to thank curators Mara Firetti, Cèline Azem and Ocean Sailly for their effort and for making this experience uniquely encouraging and inspirational.

Thanks also to everyone who visited the exhibition; your presence and curiosity means a lot to me.

And many thanks to all of you, my friends here, for constantly offering your support, your constructive opinions and also your kind attention.

It’s interesting to me how ideas rarely stay still. One gives birth to another, and this painting is a good example of that. It started as a concept I wanted to explore through human connection and growth, and slowly it found its way onto the canvas, becoming something I could actually feel, not just think about.

But the idea didn’t stop there. I wanted to understand its relationship to the world outside the studio, so I brought it into nature, let it become part of something larger than itself. Filming it outdoors, with natural light and shadow moving across it, felt like another layer of the same idea, contrast as something necessary, whether in a life journey or in the natural elements around us. Light needs shadow. Growth needs tension. Connection needs both.

Taking the video and sharing it here feels like part of that same unfolding, one more piece added to an idea that keeps growing past where I expected it to stop. This is an ongoing journey, not just of a painting, but of connection continuing to find new form, as it keeps unfolding.

This one started with trying to understand myself, but the more I looked, the more I realized I couldn’t really do that without looking at other people too. The people around me keep showing me parts of myself I couldn’t see on my own, and somehow that same process ends up teaching me about them, and about the world, in a way I didn’t expect. It’s like understanding myself became a way of understanding everyone else, and understanding others kept sending me back to myself again. Every encounter along the way has actually shaped how I’ve grown, not just added to what I know, but changed who I am. The more I sit with that, the more I think none of us are really separate the way we assume, we’re all just reflecting pieces of each other back and forth, all the time, and growing because of it.

Through the reflection of others, we meet the parts of ourselves we could never fully see alone. This piece explores the theme of human connection, both with oneself and with others, tracing how every encounter carries the quiet work of remembering who we are. Memory surfaces beside memory, emotion beside emotion, fear meeting hope in the same unguarded moment, and we rarely see our own depths clearly until another person becomes the surface we are reflected against.

It reflects the inner desire to connect as a pathway to experiencing love and collective growth, the reminder that beneath our separate histories runs a single current, and that the stories we carry, however private they feel, have always belonged to more than one person.

Art, inspiration, and reflection on August.

The more I delve into my creative practice, the deeper I find myself in nature. Drawn to its cycles of rebirth, growth, and transformation. August was simply another month of observing, reflecting, and gathering inspiration, finding in nature quiet symbols of hope, renewal, and the possibility of beginning again.

What is released does not disappear, but becomes the ground for renewal. Transformation is both vulnerable and necessary. In order to make space for something more honest and alive, I must let parts of myself fall and fade.
