Indian Army, Indian Navy by @negotiatedburden

India has developed some impressive indigenous weapons, from the Tata WhAP, DRDO's MGS and Kalyani MArG to the ATAGS and Zorawar light tank. Several of these systems have the potential to compete with, and in some areas outperform, their foreign counterparts.

Yet, one of the biggest challenges faced by India's defence industry is the time it takes for indigenous systems to move from development and testing to actual induction. Even after years of trials, procurement can be delayed, orders may come in limited numbers, and some platforms risk becoming outdated before they enter widespread service. The Arjun tank is one example of how prolonged development and induction can affect a homegrown defence project.

The recent order for 535 K9 Vajra-T self-propelled howitzers is a significant step towards strengthening the Army's artillery capabilities. Although the K9 is South Korean in origin, it is manufactured in India. However, it also raises a broader question: are we giving our own indigenous systems, such as the Kalyani MArG, enough consideration and support?

This isn't about rejecting foreign weapons or questioning the value of the K9 Vajra-T. It's about finding the right balance between acquiring proven systems and investing in our own defence capabilities.

If we want India to become self-reliant in defence, we need to back our indigenous industries with timely decisions, meaningful orders and long-term confidence. Developing a weapon is only half the job. Putting it into the hands of our armed forces is what truly matters. by @negotiatedburden

Iranian Warship Sunk By U.S. Submarine #iran #warship #usa

An Iranian warship, identified as IRINS Dena, was reportedly sunk off the southern coast of Sri Lanka near Galle. According to U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a U.S. submarine carried out the strike. Sri Lankan authorities confirmed 32 survivors were rescued and multiple bodies recovered, while an oil slick was found at the site with no vessel visible. Around 180 personnel were believed to be on board.

The vessel had recently taken part in India’s International Fleet Review and Exercise MILAN in the Bay of Bengal and was reportedly heading back to Iran when the incident occurred. by @negotiatedburden

USA'S F-15 Eagle Fighter Jets Shot Down By Kuwaiti Air Defence System #edit #usa #iran #israel #fyp

On March 2, 2026, several United States Air Force fighter jets crashed over Kuwait, confirmed by the Kuwait Ministry of Defense. Reports indicate aircraft, including F-15 fighters, were lost during active military operations in a volatile combat region.
Verified footage by CNN shows one jet engulfed in flames, spiraling uncontrollably before impact, while pilots ejected moments before destruction.
According to multiple defense sources, the aircraft were hit by Kuwaiti air defense systems amid intense Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. bases in the region.
But the exact number of aircraft and cause remain under investigation. by @negotiatedburden

Venezuela And Now Iran....Is India Next? #edit #war #fyp

Following a coordinated strike by the United States and Israel, supreme leader, Ali Khamenei was killed in Tehran, triggering massive retaliation from Iran. Iran responded with ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israeli territory and multiple US military bases across Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and the UAE, proving its ability to strike powerful enemies beyond its borders.
But India stands in a different league. India possesses nuclear weapons, intercontinental ballistic missiles like Agni-V, nuclear powered submarines such as INS Aridhaman capable of stealth second-strike retaliation, supersonic cruise weapons developed by BrahMos Aerospace, advanced Indian Armed Forces fighter jets like Rafale, two aircraft carriers, and the S-400 air defense system capable of intercepting incoming threats hundreds of kilometers away. Combined with anti satellite capabilities and a full nuclear triad, India maintains one of the most powerful deterrence systems on Earth.
This level of military strength ensures that any direct attack on India’s cities, bases, or sovereignty would come with consequences no adversary can afford. by @negotiatedburden
