And I answer it this way (swipe right). It’s maybe a drop in the bucket but my intent is — and will remain — to help and fight on the side of those who are underrepresented.

Look, I hate to admit it but this is SO ACCURATE. Plus, add a dollop of #momlife during a pandemic on top and 💯.

Running a business is hard. Running a business through a pandemic without childcare is even harder. I’ve spent a lot of my January resetting and working on BD. I’ve been doing a lot of behind the scenes business things that aren’t so glamorous. Planting seeds that I hope to see blossom soon! 🌺

To all my fellow #smallbusiness owners: hang in there. A mantra I keep hearing repeated amongst new business owners is “if we can survive 2020, we can survive anything.” Here, here! 🥂

Back in the saddle @version_consulting today!

It was *such a necessary* break and I planned it before everything happened last week. I’m glad I had the mental space to take it all in and also heal up from some autoimmune stuff I battled over the holiday.

I still can’t believe we’re living in such a chaotic world and managing it all without any childcare, family, etc. but here we are! A special high five to my fellow parents that are juggling a lot right now.

Looking forward to working on some business development & getting organized for the rest of the year. Day one down, 260 to go!

*Out of Office: On*

Thank you to my clients, friends, fellow small business owners and family for cheering me on! It’s been a hard year to start a business but as my last paid invoice came in today, I felt a great sense of pride. 🙂

My initial goal was always to make up my startup costs in 2020, and I was able to do that and make some small office upgrades (I was using a 20-year-old chair, no joke) as well. I had a lot of conversation with people — some turned into new business, others turned into monthly check-ins with fellow BIPOC and/or Womxn business owners to just talk in these isolating times. 🥰

I don’t know what 2021 holds for Version Consulting but after taking a break starting tomorrow and into January, I know that I want to really go for it. Reach for the big clients and be confident that they will value what I have to offer and hire me. I want to also still support BIPOC/Womxn-owned businesses. I want to continue to solve hard problems & work on projects I am proud of! 🙌🏽

Isn’t this the truth? I haven’t been posting much because I’ve been busy! As Thanksgiving is days away, I am *so thankful* for having work to do everyday and interesting clients to work for. I am also grateful to have worked like crazy over the last 10 days so I could take the next 5 off. Discomfort? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely!
