Congratulations J+Y! Last week's amazing day at Neidpath Castle got me feeling all highland lord-esque. I absolutely loved the light and the colours in almost every room in the entire building, and that ceilidh was absolute carnage!

We spend a lot of elopements outside, negotiating with mother nature and Scottish terrain. But, on occasion, we are tempted indoors by beautiful characterful architecture and the wonderful couples who similarly appreciate it.

On this occasion, K+C had fallen in love with Neidpath Castle in the Scottish Borders. We’d been side-eyeing this lovely wee place for a while so when K+C enquired with us, with their free-spirit energy, it was an eager reply from us!

We arrived on a May morning to find K outside with her pooch (who Dave developed a keen friendship with throughout the day 😄). K+C got ready separately with friends and family - meeting each other down the aisle in the atmospheric entrance hall. Their ceremony had rituals and stories woven together, bringing in loved ones to be part of it all.

Once the knot was officially tied, it was time celebrate. Hugs with loved ones, a cheeky canape or two. All the good things 🧡

K+C in the hope of blending their intimate wedding vision with their elopement vision, set aside a fair bit of time to explore the area together alone. A barefooted bride and her groom went in search of a secluded spot to say some private words to each other. With much frivolity and interacting with the nature around them along the way! (It’s not everyday a bride climbs up through a tree stump!) 🌿

They shared their words by the water over an oathing stone - sealed in there forever by the river water. 🌊

Our time together went fast and it wasn’t long before tummies were rumbling, speeches heard and a cake was cut with a sword. The perfect cue for us to withdraw and leave everyone to the celebrations of K+C! ✨️🧡

O & Z ✨️

These two were just an absolute joy.

They trusted me and my vision, and more importantly, didn’t care about all the little things that can so easily take over a wedding day.

In rained, taxis didnt show, things didnt go 100% to plan and the dress got absolutely disgusting. But did they care? NOPE.

We laughed it off, had fun and they still had the best wedding day ever! ✨️❤️

This pair were brimming with such genuine and wholesome love all day, it was the most endearing thing to see. Stealing kisses when no one was watching, and those vows to each other...wow! It's days like these that really remind me what weddings are all about!

Wednesday at the beautiful Neidpath castle 🏰 🤍

It was such a pleasure to be asked to be part of the bride’s wedding morning, especially knowing she had travelled all the way from America to get married here in Scotland 🥹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I loved spending the morning getting her ready, meeting her lovely mum and being a little part of such a special moment in her life🤗

These are the mornings that make me feel so lucky to do what I do 🤍

And of course, it was so lovely working alongside @beccahutchisonmakeup again, creating the perfect team for the morning 🫶🏻
