Wow what an achievement 🙌 @nyt_nyc so proud of all the crew and cast that worked on @departuresfilmuk - incredible we have been chosen as critics choice ! The film was made without a penny of support from any funding bodies - just graft & belief from @lemfilms @pjmortlock @davidtagofficial @_jakeh99 @drop_city_ltd and all the creatives behind and in front of camera. Proud of you all. #newyork #nytimes @ifccenter #lgbtqa #indiefilm

Here she is… our Donna. Do you think she needs a man? 💁🏻‍♀️
Written, directed and fimed by the incredible @lemfilms and @neil_ely. They’re crazy talented and lovely. Thank you for working your magic and creating my glorious showreel scenes. I absolutely love them and loved working with you guys. Thank you to the very gifted @sophieanneellicott for being my scene partner and giving me the v’s 😆.

🌈 Join us to close SCENE 2026 with an unmissable screening of Chatlines.

Set in 2027, terminally ill Jordan logs into a webcam chatroom and meets Danny, a stranger who insists it's 2005. As an impossible connection deepens, Chatlines blends mystery, heartbreak and queer love, featuring standout performances from Siobhan Finneran and Nico Mirallegro.

SCENE's Closing Night sees Manchester LGBTQ+ filmmaking duo @lemfilms Lloyd Eyre-Morgan and @neil_ely Neil Ely return to the festival with their second film in as many years, following @departuresfilmuk, which was released in UK cinemas this April.

Be among the first to see #Chatlines ahead of its cinema release next year, then stay for an exclusive panel with the cast and filmmakers to hear more about the film and its journey to the screen.

Our SCENE Closing Night screening is proudly sponsored by @screen_mcr.

Part of @screenalliancenorth Screen Alliance North, Screen Manchester is the film office for @manchestercitycouncil, providing comprehensive support for productions of every scale across the city.
