Wandering around RHS Wisley today the kniphofia ( Red Hot Pokers) were some of the stand out plants adding dashes of colour after the hot and dry summer. 🌱 #Gardening #BloomScrolling A clump of red hot pokers (kniphofia) with flower heads that go from bright yellow at the base to a rusty orange at the tip. They are surrounded by long strands of dry grass. by @neil_milliken

Yummy I finally get to eat the lovely beef tomatoes that I have been growing in my garden. They have taken ages to ripen but I shall feast for the next couple of weeks. 🌱 #gardening #growyourfood #tomatoes Slices of yellow and red beef tomato on a wooden chopping board showing marbled flesh. by @neil_milliken

I love the way the morning sun illuminates the hairs on this bumble bee and the flower that it is feeding on. #insect #Macro #MacroPhotography #Bee

Pottering around the garden this morning was a pleasure before getting stuck into work. I love the look of the fruits on my strawberry trees. The taste is sweet but the texture is grainy like an overripe pear. 🌱 #gardening #plants #fruits Three fruit of an Arbutus (Strawberry Tree) two of the round knobbly fruit at the front of the bunch are a strong red colour and the one behind is changing colour from yellow to red. by @neil_milliken

After the rain the garden feels fresh and it’s a joy to observe bees going about their business. #bee #mygarden A honeybee feasting upon the nectar of a small sunflower. by @neil_milliken

I woke up this morning to the sun rising over misty fields. Whilst it’s not quite autumn there are hints from the end of summer. No doubt within a few days and another heat wave will come along but for now it is cooler. #gardening #sunrise 🌱 The rising morning sun slowly appears over the top of a laurel hedge in the full ground the branch of a rose hangs downwards intersecting the skyline. by @neil_milliken

This young fox spotted on my walk around Wisley yesterday was incredibly tame. I think it must be all the tourists and their snacks that made him so unfazed by humans.

It’s cooling down and the #garden is no longer out of bounds 😎 most of the plants survived the heatwave. #gardening A pebble pathway leads to a seating area under a pergola covered in wisteria. Either side of the path is lush green planting and in the background are tree ferns. by @neil_milliken
