I am beyond proud to share that I’ll be running the 2025 New York Marathon as part of Team for Kids! For those of you who know me, you know this was once just a dream—and reaching this moment feels almost unfathomable. This race is deeply personal. It honors my Vovô, whose motto, “Força”—strength—continues to guide me. Before Alzheimer’s took him, he was a passionate runner and my greatest inspiration, teaching me that no matter how difficult life gets, moving forward is the only thing that will get you through. Running, and fitness has allowed me to honor his legacy, while helping kids gain the resources and confidence, I was fortunate to receive in order chase their dreams, and take part in crucial steps toward development.For me, service is a way of life, and the foundation of what will one day heal the world. I’m asking for your support to help me raise the minimum of $3,000 for Team for Kids, so we can empower the next generation to move forward with strength and hope. I have never once opted for a simple life. From the NYU dream of a first-generation student—a young girl thrilled about activism, fueled by love and music—to a woman who has traveled to over 11 countries over 4 years, I continue to live.Over the last 4 years, my life has completely altered. I learned how to trust myself across landscapes, traveling solo at 19 through Africa, becoming the class president of the NYU School of Social Work, and now, being a 2026 commencement speaker!But most importantly, I never expected that throughout my time at NYU, I would have met, loved, and been able to live with the amazing friends I have made here. I’ve never met individuals more passionate, enthusiastic, loving, and giving than my girls, and all the amazing people of New York City. I was always a city girl and will continue to be one, as this is only the beginning of my journey. Striving for excellence should never be looked down upon. Uplift yourself, be proud, be kind, and be loving. Love yourself enough to support others, and give what so many people lack in this world—LOVE.Always believe in yourself. If I had listened to what people told me about NYU, finances, and opportunity, I would have never had the faith to put myself here. Thank you to my mom, who labored endlessly to pedestal my dreams, and thank you to my family for ALWAYS telling me I was enough, and that I was always worthy of love.Keep dreaming, because I know I will, and always act in spite of fear. For me 26.2 miles means a lot more than the distance. I have been running this race for my entire life, with the support of my family, and damn spectacular friends. I thank god for the ability to move my body, love, and love myself enough to have started my long journey with fitness. If you would have told me in 2019 that I would be running the New York City Marathon, I would have laughed. For those who know me, and my journey I love you, and to everyone who has ever supported me, donated and helped me raise over 3,000 dollars I love you and appreciate you. It wasn’t easy, and running this race wouldn’t have been possible without any of you. Everyday I relearn the privilege and value of being able to move my body, and to work hard at something despite work, school, and the hell of other responsibilities. I hit my goal pace at 9:57-10:15/mile WOO WOO, and cannot wait to run another marathon 😅. I’ve dreamed, prayed and journaled about a spot in this race for years; it was more than anything I could have hoped for and one of the best days of my life. Keep living life, trying hard things, and loving even harder. Until the next race, I am eternally grateful. I began training, not realizing that this race was for myself, and the love I’ve had for who I am now and the girl I was at 15. *last video explains everything* by @neis.a

I thank my mama for putting me on this earth 21 years ago today.For this life, I am eternally grateful; for I am surrounded by greatness, happiness, and people I’m lucky to call my friends and family. To be thought of is to be loved, and to be loved is the greatest gift.
