The glue is still drying, but my first project from #MakingZen @zenstitching is finished! @gardengirlstudio presented these miniature hand embroidered landscapes and wouldn’t you know, I was looking for ideas to fill these little, smaller than a quarter, faux embroidered hoop frames!

My first attempt at a mini fall landscape using remnants of @darngoodyarn silk yarn, scraps of cotton yarn and a wee bit of embroidery floss 🍂🪾🍁

Thank you so much to @alderwoodstudio who was hosting a giveaway for fat quarters from The Apothecary collection, among about our favorite thing in the fall, with it ending on my birthday… So I submitted my birthday and she sent me a set as an early birthday gift!

How gorgeous are they? Especially that light blue with the crows, spider potions, leaves and little shrooms… the dark green and white with the pumpkins, potions , and books 📚 💚🫙

During Woolly’s preview knit I was lucky enough to work on the #WWArromorHat and created two youth sized hats with that coordinating pattern and I love them all! 💗 by @neithj

Set loose another book companion today in a little free library. Together we’ve visits over 70 area free libraries and sidewalk joy, found ten no longer functioning, and finished the list of sites on over 11 maps/articles as well as from tips ave walking in grids to explore different neighborhoods… still some areas to check, let us know if we missed any! @beverlylfs for photos of them all and a link to the map in our bio

Some of the many handmade goodies I’ve been pairing with books and gifting into @littlefreelibrary / @librarythingofficial & @beverlypubliclibrary with Jay this summer while we visited every single free library/sidewalk joy that we’re could find once thru over a dozen resources… and walking grid through many of the neighborhoods in town.

I just finished up my #WWTophHat in @woollywormhead ‘s @heygosadi stitch-a-long and am rewarding myself with some afternoon tea treats while I pick my next book…

At the top of my TBR (to be read list) were already Natural Disaster by @lamowens & Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf @unionsqandco that I won along with the @authorand.co Author Clock in a drawing here by @littlebrown

Don’t they all look grand together? (And no, I didn’t stage the clock to give the quote “4:32 p.m. She had to admit it was an impressive set-up.” ~ James Twining, The Gilded Seal… the quote changes each minute and it just showed up in the photo, to my surprise!)

After hiding mushroom gals in the @beverlypubliclibrary and area @librarythingofficial / @littlefreelibrary free outdoor libraries, then seeing more that aren’t in any maps and some needing many more books, Jay and I decided to try to map all of the little libraries abcs other sidewalk joy in town… and I kept making gifts to add to some of the books we’ve been placing in them.

Check my Ravelry http://ravelry.com/neithj under projects for all of the pattern and yarn details, peek at our joint posts at @beverlylfs and follow the link there to the map of the 62 we’ve visited so far, the 9 no longer in service, and the 19 yet to be confirmed… But any time we walk a few new miles we usually find one that isn’t mapped!

Most are book libraries, but Beverly also has puzzle swaps, a little free blockbuster, a community caterpillar (painted rocks), several dog only libraries and dog plus book libraries… Next door, Salem has a free little art gallery and there are a few little pantries still operating in neighboring towns… plus seed libraries in the Spring! taken in Beverly, Massachusetts by @neithj

These fine feathered friends (& maybe some of their siblings) will be finding their way into our costal @littlefreelibrary @librarythingofficial @beverlylibraryfriends & other free sidewalk joy boxes this summer. (Check out our new IG account for the Library+ adventures, map, and more @beverlylfs )

They are part of a project by @knitforwildlife #birdcolonykal with free patterns for an Eider Duck & Seagull by @hekla.cwist

Did you know that @mass.wildlife has placed both our American Herring Gull & the Eider Duck on Massachusetts’ list of Species of Greatest Conservation Need list? (MA State Wildlife Action Plan)

American Herring Gull

Common Eider
These large black and white sea ducks can be found offshore diving for mussels and other shellfish. Low reproductive potential, residential development, and nest predation are all possible threats to common eider populations.

Gnolan the Gnibbler is famous for gnoshing away on berries, so much so that he only wears berry colored clothing (to keep the stains hidden, shh!) He loves to go foraging all over town for his berries…

My #6DaySuperstarBlanket is complete! @bettymcknit & @knittingfever have hosted a free crochet-a-long all month with this fun start blanket pattern and I themed mine around the Knitting Fever @mirasolyarns Pima Splash yarn in Flamingo, pairing it with some solids from @bernatyarn Handicrafter to make my ombre pink & greyscale 54” blanket (with one extra repetition set) using my new @furlscrochet hooks and @bettymcknit Somatic Crochet practices 💗 thank you for such a great project!
