A few weeks ago I put something out here: half idea, half question.

I asked if you’d show up for a free 20-minute call. No forms, just a safe space to say what you’ve been carrying alone.

So many people responded, some people even slid into my DMs and we had some beautiful conversations. Again, I asked what to call it, you voted and Off The Record won.

So here we are…

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. And every year this month comes around and we talk about mental health like it’s something that happens to other people. Like it’s always somebody else’s story.
But some people are tired, some people are overwhelmed and don’t even have the words for it yet. Some people just need to say something out loud, to someone who won’t panic, won’t judge, and won’t make it weird.
That’s what this is.

Off The Record starts this Friday, 8th May.
Every Friday in May, we’re opening up slots for a free 20-minute phone call.
You talk. We listen.

It is not a therapy session. It’s just space that is real and confidential.
Slots are limited. Link to book is in my bio.

…to everyone who voted, responded and sent a DM, this one is because of you. by @nejosarah

Settling doesn’t always look like staying with someone who’s clearly wrong for you.

Sometimes it looks like being reasonable, being patient, choosing to keep the peace, not making it a big deal.

It wears so many respectable disguises that most people don’t recognize it until they’re years deep and quietly exhausted.

Swipe through and be honest with yourself, not to judge the relationship but to see it clearly.

Save this and come back to itšŸ¤ by @nejosarah

ā€œIf they loved me, they would just know.ā€

This belief has quietly ended more relationships than cheating ever has.

Most people who expect this were never really taught that asking was safe. Asking didn’t workor it cost too much. So silence became the strategy and unspoken needs became the standard.

The difficult truth? The people who love you are not meant to decode you. They’re meant to know you and that only happens when you let them. by @nejosarah

Nobody wants to hear this.
But staying for who someone could be is not the same as being loved for who they are.

Dear Ore,

You’re my core
You’re very solid
I hold you very dear to my heart.

I’ve watched you through different seasons and you’ve carried each of them with grace.
So many memories we have created and still creating.

There’s a lot I want to write here but I’m sure you can read them between what has been written.
Remember that day you called me and said you didn’t think you wanted to attend that meeting and I had to show up with what to wear and join you to attend the meeting… and prepping you as we drove…. I dey for you my babe.
Any day, any time.
I’ll be present to support, cheer, guide, and definitely give my feedbackšŸŒššŸ˜‚

Happy Birthday OrešŸ’

Don’t play me!
The work of a therapist is no joke….
Constantly snatching out of the devils mouth,
Daily allowing others unburden themselves while I sit in,
Walking with people as they find hope and light again,

Holding space for tears, anger, silence, and those hard truths nobody wants to say out loud.
Carrying stories that would break some people, yet showing up the next day with an open heart.
Watching pain slowly turn into strength, confusion into clarity, and fear into courage.

It’s heavy work, but it’s sacred work.
And every small breakthrough reminds me why I do it.
Bringing heaven down! by @nejosarah

Beyond my work and passion for mind wellness for young adults, I’m a licensed therapist, and today I chose to share a piece of my story.

If you’ve been curious about therapy or what it could look like to begin your healing journey in a more holistic and intentional way, I’d love to connect with you.

You can send a message, ask a question, or click the link in my bio. Sometimes the first step is simply allowing yourself to reach out.
