POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Friends, Nearly 50 motions were filed by our lawyers this week challenging the federal government’s case against us.

The New York Times is taking a closer look at what our attorneys are uncovering and challenging—including unusual investigative tactics, more than 90 administrative summonses, selective prosecution, misuse of the FACE Act, and serious questions about whether Homeland Security Investigations even had the authority to investigate this case.

We went to Cities Church during Operation Metro Surge because our immigrant neighbors and their children were being terrorized across Minnesota. We sought to raise awareness about Pastor David Easterwood’s dual role as a church leader and the acting director of ICE’s St. Paul field office. Our peaceful demonstration took place just 11 days after an ICE agent killed Renée Good.

Now, the federal government is prosecuting 38 of us.

I am incredibly grateful for the brilliant attorneys who are fighting alongside us and challenging this prosecution from every angle. What they are exposing should concern anyone who believes in the right to peacefully protest, speak truth to power, and hold our government accountable.

This fight is bigger than us.

We will not be intimidated.
We will not be silenced.
We will keep fighting for justice.

Friends, We are still here. And we are still holding the line. We want to thank every one of you who has continued to boycott Target and hold the line.

Despite what you may have read or heard, the National Target Boycott never ended. We called for an indefinite boycott in January 2025, and that is exactly what we meant.

Target has had plenty of opportunities to do the right thing. Instead, we have seen PR moves, attempts to rehabilitate the company’s image, and more behavior that raises serious questions about whether Target has learned anything at all.

Meanwhile, the fundamental issues that led us to call for this boycott remain unresolved.

So no, we are not going to pretend everything is okay and head back to Target because it is convenient. And we are certainly not going to allow anyone else to declare this boycott over on our behalf.

It is not over.

For those of you who have continued shopping elsewhere, thank you. We know it takes intentionality to change your shopping habits, especially when Target spent decades positioning itself as a convenient and supposedly progressive place to shop.

But our dollars matter.

Target does not get to disrespect our community and continue to profit from us.

Please keep holding the line.

And at this point, some of us aren’t ever going back.

Friends, This is a powerful and compelling image that was captured by our own Chris Juhn today in downtown Minneapolis, during Jake Lang’s racist rally. Spider-Man was in beast mode when he leapt onto the truck to confront Lang.

Interestingly, the Black man in the army fatigues holding the American flag is reportedly an 73-year-old veteran who traveled here with Lang. I’m not sure what he was thinking by putting himself in this situation to help protect this man with such disgusting and racist views. SMH.

Nekima Levy Armstrong (@nekimal) draws a direct line from the laws used against enslaved people to what’s happening with ICE today — and to Operation Metro Surge in her own city of Minneapolis. Her question isn’t rhetorical: what does it say about a democracy when the law promises equality on paper, but gets weaponized against the poorest people in the country, over and over?

Her answer to that question is why she stopped staying quiet. 🎧 All Roads with Jeffery Robinson, link in bio.

On All Roads with Jeffery Robinson latest episode, Nekima Levy Armstrong (@nekimal) talks about raising her daughter on the front lines of protests against police violence and the other kids out there with her, some barely old enough to walk, holding signs, telling their parents not to come pick them up early. “I’m fighting for freedom.”

Proof that kids have always understood something about courage that adults sometimes have to relearn. 🎧 Link in bio.

Thank you @nekimal, for an incredible storytime of J Is for Justice this past weekend at @acorn.bookshop❤️

I swear this bookstore is magical, and Nekima brought even more magic into the space. We read, we chanted, some of us cried, and the power of books was truly felt.

Thank you to everyone who came out, purchased a book, and helped make the morning so special. A huge thank you to Nekima for taking time from her busy schedule of working and advocating for the rights of our community to share this beautiful book with us. As well as thank you to @acorn.bookshop for their beautiful space.

This is what we mean when we talk about the power of books: bringing people together, helping us learn our history, and creating space for community to celebrate and push literacy forward. taken in Acorn Bookshop by @nekimal

Sometimes we’re lucky enough to meet our real-life heroes. Sometimes small bookshops become spaces where stories are shared, voices are heard and hope shines her light into the lives of our young people. And maybe !??some chants were heard from outside ☮️ Incredibly grateful. @readwithmemn @acorn.bookshop @nekimal by @nekimal

Friends, I’d love for you and the young readers in your life to join me for a special storytime! 💜

This Saturday at 10 AM, I’ll be reading my children’s book, J is for Justice, at the Read With Me MN Book Club at Acorn Bookshop.

J is for Justice was written to help children understand that their voices matter and that even at a young age, they can learn about fairness, courage, justice, and standing up for what is right.

I would love to see my network there—and especially your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, students, and other young people you love. Come enjoy storytime, bring the kids, and spend part of your Saturday morning with us! 📖✨

📅 Saturday, September 26, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM
📍 Acorn Bookshop
2238 Carter Ave.
St. Paul, MN 55113

Please share this post and invite another family who might enjoy joining us. I’m looking forward to reading with the children, hearing their thoughts, and creating a beautiful morning of learning and community together. ❤️

Hope to see you there!
