Today I made a decision about the way I consume media. Why am I spending money on things that are freely provided at the library? My first step was uninstalling Audible and replacing it with Libby (audio and e-book app) and grabbing physical copies at the library! All my favorite authors are there and I have more incentive to finish the books instead of sitting cold. While this is not the end all be all decision- it means a great deal that I start slowly supporting our communities. And that starts with the library. This was a nice one! The cast did a beautiful job all around and the story was told and wrapped up well. Grief guides us to do some strange things and can often overcome and harm those around us, as it is not something that only exists in a vacuum. I especially enjoyed the realistic relationship of a child caregiving for an adult while they attempt to heal - and how it can damage their childhood in irreversible ways. The human mind and heart are so strangely both resilient and fragile. The ending felt like a set up for a part 2, but I think they should just leave it alone and end it right where it did. #blackbox #scifimovie #horror #review #phillyhorrorbaddie by @nell_theextra

Taking the idea of a wish gone wrong and putting it to screen! Writing was decent and story line was chilling. Jump scares were not a part of the eeriness of this film, the erratic behavior of the deuteragonist (secondary main character) gives the bulk of eeriness and discontent. The main character’s reaction to such behavior is what hits. This one was a little different in the way that you can see the full circle of the wish beginning to end- we often never see the end result. I felt it was missing something- possibly a better beginning connection with the main cast? They could have highlighted the history connection between the characters in more depth, so that we feel something for each of them as their lives become entangled with this wish. I just didn’t feel much for any of them, they didn’t feel like a group of friends I was rooting for, etc. meh, idk something was just lacking #obsession #horrormovie #phillyhorrorbaddie #review
