POV: Your younger self finally gets to meet the woman you became. 🥹❤️✨

I think she’d be proud. 🥹

Not because I got everything right.
Not because life went according to plan.
And definitely not because I have it all figured out. 😂

But because I KEPT GOING.

I’ve grown. I’ve learned. I’ve had to rediscover parts of myself I put on the back burner while being a mom, building a career, and showing up for everyone else.

And now? I’m making room for ME again. 💃🏽✈️🥂

More experiences. More adventures. More hobbies. More joy. More becoming the woman I was always meant to be.

Because here’s what I’m learning: Turning 40 doesn’t mean your best chapters are behind you. They might be waiting for you to finally choose yourself. 🔥

Can I be honest with you for a second? 💚

Have you ever felt guilty for wanting time for yourself?

For pursuing a dream, taking a trip, exploring a new hobby, or simply needing a moment to breathe without feeling like you should be doing something for someone else?

As mothers, we can become so focused on showing up for our children that we forget we’re still women with dreams, needs, and identities of our own.

And sometimes, the hardest part of choosing ourselves isn’t finding the time. It’s releasing the guilt that comes with it.

But here’s your reminder: You can be a loving, present mother and still choose yourself.

Your happiness matters.
Your dreams matter.
And the woman you are becoming matters, too.

😂♊️ My kids are 19 and 15 now, but when they were little, I had ONE question whenever they started acting up…

“DO YOU WANT MEAN MOMMY OR NICE MOMMY?!”

Looking back, I laugh because motherhood has taught me that I don’t have to be a perfect mom. I was learning as I went, figuring out boundaries, loving my babies, and trying to keep my sanity along the way!

And now, as a woman over 40, I’m learning that I can laugh at the woman I was while celebrating the woman I’m becoming. ❤️

Because motherhood is just ONE chapter of our story. We still get to discover ourselves, try new things, have fun, and live FULLY!

Not back to who I used to be.

Not trying to prove I still have it.

Not chasing the version of me everyone else remembers.

I’m on my way to becoming the woman this next chapter requires.

The woman who tries new things.
The woman who chooses joy.
The woman who stops waiting for the “right time.”
The woman who realizes there is still SO much life left to live.

Because after 40, transformation doesn’t have to look like starting over.

Sometimes it looks like finally becoming more YOU.

WHO ARE YOU WITHOUT THE LABELS?

We spend so much of our lives becoming.

Becoming a mother.
Becoming a wife.
Becoming successful.
Becoming a professional.
Becoming who our families, careers, relationships, and society expect us to be.

But what happens when you strip all of that away?

What’s left?

That’s the conversation I’m having in Episode 2 of The Mirror Talks.

Because your titles describe what you DO.

Your SOUL reveals who you ARE.

S.O.U.L. — Self Outside Universal Labels.

For me, I’m discovering that underneath all my titles, I’m curious. I’m creative. I’m deeply connected to people. I love creating, learning, imagining, growing, and bringing possibilities to life.

And just like my plants 🌱, I’ve realized that I have a choice every day:

Grow… or slowly die internally.

Transformation isn’t always becoming someone new. Sometimes it’s remembering who you were before the world told you who to be.

So today, I’m asking you to look in the mirror and ask yourself:

When everything I’ve been called is taken away, what is still true about me?

Before I became a mother, I was a daughter. ❤️

And today, on my mom’s birthday, I’m thinking about all the things motherhood has taught me.

but also all the things I learned because she was my mother first.

There are lessons you don’t understand when you’re young.

The sacrifices.
The worry.
The unconditional love.
The exhaustion.
The moments when you’re figuring it out as you go and hoping you’re getting it right.

Then one day, you become a mother yoursellf.

Suddenly you look at your own mother a little differently.

You realize she was learning too.

She didn’t have a perfect playbook.

And neither do we.

We’re just women doing our best to raise little humans while somehow trying to remember who we are along the way.

So as I step into sharing my motherhood lessons the funny ones, the hard ones, the unexpected ones, and the ones that changed me I want to start with gratitude.

Because before I was Mom.

I was hers. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Mom. Thank you for helping shape the woman I am today.

And to every woman who has ever looked at her mother and thought, “Now I finally understand.”

I see you. ❤️

Apparently, hobbies have expiration dates. 😂
I used to love hiking… but my body has recently submitted a formal complaint. 🥴
I used to love gardening… but I live in Texas, and apparently the sun has a personal vendetta against me. ☀️😂
And it got me thinking…
Maybe the goal isn’t to force myself back into the hobbies I used to love.
Maybe I’m supposed to discover what THIS version of me enjoys.
Because at 45, I’m not the same woman I was at 25.
My body is different. My schedule is different. My interests are changing. And honestly… I’m ready to have some fun again.
So I’m starting a little experiment:
Rediscovering Hobbies at 45.
I’m going to try new things, revisit old things, probably embarrass myself a few times 😂 and figure out what makes me feel like ME again.
And I’m bringing you with me.
