Hands that cup a face as if it were precious, that catch tears without question, as if they were just as much yours as they were mine. by @nellimolfenter

She walks in; she’s feeling good. She’s here to help, and she’s going to help. She calls up her next patient. She’s long and languid—dressed in a luxurious white. She’s got her hair up, and she’s looking down at us ill people. She’s long and she’s luxurious, and we are lucky. She walked into this room full of us ill people, and she was here to help, and she was going to help. We, ill people, know it as much as she does. And we ill people—we, on a bodily level, even in our ill bodies—tell her in our secret way, the way bodies tell you things, and she is here to hear it. She’s got her hair up and her boat shoes on—tassels on her boat shoes, never seen that before—and I am a small grey thing, playing with my paperwork, sweating. I cannot explain it, but when I see a long white coat like that, of any kind, my heart begins to beat so hard I choke a bit. I know it’s an automatic stress response, but when I saw her, particularly her, so beautiful inside her white coat, it felt almost like love. Who’s who, who’s what, what’s what, and what’s where, and how long is it going to last? This relationship. by @nellimolfenter

She was pissed and he was trying to avoid talking about it. They had been walking around for about 20 minutes without finding what they had originally come here for. He had suggested they just enjoy themselves since they had payed almost 50€ entry but she was not interested in reasonable solutions. He was absolutely unbothered by the situation (she thought) and she was absolutely the most frightening thing in the world (he thought). taken in Tropical Islands by @nellimolfenter

I would have ordered a tomato soup and you would have ordered a beer. I would have waited for you to look away to drop the soup onto my skirt. When you would have finished your beer, you would have stood up and walked to the bar to pay. I would have then turned away from you to quickly put on a large coat. A puppy in the booth next to ours would have be badly behaved, playing with its leash, almost biting me. I would have step on its tail and it would cried out but you would have not turned around, which would have been a relief. We would have then walked home together, a little girl and her mother walking the same way—the entire way. That entire way we would have listened to her pleas for a christmas bunny rabbit. You would have gotten irritated but we would not have ever crossed to the other side of the street. The weather would have been cold enough for the soup that I had fed my skirt to stay well hidden under that big coat. taken in Europa-Center Berlin by @nellimolfenter
