If you knew how much it took for me to smile like this, you’d understand why this picture means so much to me. 🥹🤍
This year has rocked me in ways I cannot even begin to explain. I have cried more tears than I ever thought I could, had conversations with God that only He will ever know about, and fought battles I had no choice but to fight in silence.
There were moments when I genuinely didn’t understand why certain things were happening. Why things I prayed for were falling apart. Why things I worked so hard for just weren’t coming together. Why I had to experience so much pain in such a short space of time. There were things that broke me, things I cried for, things I desperately wanted to work out, and moments where I questioned God because I simply could not understand what He was doing.
But today, looking back, I finally understand.
Some things had to fall apart for me to find myself again. Some prayers were answered through redirection. Some endings were protection. And some of the things I thought were breaking me were actually God making room for something greater.
Because the things I used to cry over, the things I worked so hard for, the things I thought I needed so badly just to feel okay again God replaced them with more.
He showed me that sometimes we ask Him for something so small because we cannot see what He sees. I asked for one thing, and He gave me something bigger. I prayed for what I thought I needed, and God blessed me with what I didn't even know I deserved.

And that is when I realised that maybe the things I thought were unanswered prayers were never unanswered at all. Maybe God was simply preparing an answer that was far greater than anything I could have imagined for myself.
He was working even when I couldn't see it. He was holding me together on the days I felt like I had nothing left. He was closing doors I was begging Him to keep open because He knew there were better ones waiting for me.
And for the first time in a long time, I can honestly say that I am happy🥹.
