this dream started 9+ years ago and almost broke me because i couldn’t talk about it.

AND THEN i realized my unseen painting fit perfectly into my mom’s buried frame. i knew my plan could work .. it just took some extra time untangling things [and my thoughts.]

most people wouldn’t reframe their life around a back-breaking idea. i’m not most people. just needed to shed light on my shame to begin overcoming it. this video is a start.

this one piece of art represents so much:
—> breaking patterns of depression
—> breaking a poverty mindset
—> breaking habits of learned suffering
—> breaking generational trauma

BREAKING FREE.

Halloween keeps getting sweeter.

even though this one was rough since Casey came down w/ an actual bug that derailed our annual chili cook-off… we made the most of it w/ a loop of cuteness around the block.

showed up with my whole heart today.
wish you all could’ve been there.
grateful to all that were able to attend.

i explained how i traded air speed for “altitude” & a bird’s eye view 😘 … slowing down just enough to begin flying away from sabotage & shame … towards what i WANT.

and just as importantly, i asked others to write & share what they WANT as well. there’s science behind doing both to help get you where you WANT to go.

yes.. i teach sketching but my bigger goals will always be “creating belonging” and “inspiring hope.”

thank you as always to @bowoodfarms for allowing us use The Studio for this special event with so many attendees that had never been across the alley.

p.s. if you took any photos, please send them my way. i only managed to take the one outside before getting started.

p.p.s. i’d also love to hear any favorite takeaways & learnings that i should carry forward as i go ❤️

It’s no secret that we LOVE plants @bowoodfarms and @bowoodbyniche .. but did you know we incorporate botanicals into most of our workshops??

Scroll this sampling to see!

Our forever favorite is Terrarium Planting with @outinthenursery101 —-> our next session is Thursday, November 5th!

Whether playing with pumpkins with @neon.robin or paper poinsettias with @holly_makes_everything , we’re always looking for creative ways to keep things fresh. Ooo and @hareandbearco is offering her last batch of local blooms before switching to holiday wreaths.
