Lord Apex - Smoke Sessions 4 is finally out Track 2 ‘Initial P’ produced by meThanks again to @senseiapex for the honour! One of the first people to show me some hospitality when I moved to London back in 2019, so it’s only right we got something out, and I’m overjoyed for it to be on the final instalment of the Smoke Session series.Full circle moment too being on this album with the homie @angusluke after I initially reached out to him after SSV3 dropped. Until the Flies Get You drops at midnight. I’ve been working on this album for so long, it feels surreal that it’s almost release time. Written mostly during the last 3 years, this album has been a place for me to push the boundaries of what creating music has meant to me over the last 17 years, all whilst reconnecting with the process that made me fall in love with making music all those years ago - playing the guitar. “Mostly composed and recorded without the use of default digital platforms, often outdoors in parks and gardens, and thus eschewing quantisation and the airless, click-track rigidity of much contemporary bedroom production, Neo Sū’s music is an off-grid testament to the vivid possibilities of intermediate technology, with Neo favouring a literal hands-on approach in his tactile deployment of micro-cassettes and miscellaneous analogue tape recorders – at times, physically sculpting the sound by, for example, delicately pressing the forwards button of an antediluvian tape machine to induce tremulous, otherworldly effects. “I was drawn to the imperfections of tape”, he affirms, “I embrace glitches and the audible sound of things being turned on and off”.”Thanks you to LARRY FURLOW for your contribution, you were the first artist I ever worked with all those years ago after connecting on Reddit, so it was only right you had a place on this project. Internet Friends stems from a project of ours going back to 2018 that we revamped and levelled up with the help of Angus.Thank you to @eulaliecat for your contribution on this project, it has been incredible getting to work with you and I’m excited for more music in the future.Thanks to @angusluke , not only for mastering the project, but also for going above and beyond in helping me in countless ways during the process; providing feedback, additional production, as well as assisting with some of the mixing. I’m so happy to announce that ‘Far Between’ with my friend @eulaliecat is out now - the second single from my upcoming project. Eulalie is an extremely talented producer and vocalist from Japan who I first found by chance when I was on the app Radioooo, I was in awe of the sound Eulalie had created on the track ‘Mirror in the Mirror’. After that I listened to everything I could find from Eulalie and my appreciation for her beautiful music absolutely snowballed. Fast forward a few months, I was thinking how much I would love to work with Eulalie, and on a whim I reached out and to my surprise she wanted to work on some music together. I sent over a pack of different instrumentals and at the time Eulalie was busy working on another album and various other features so our collaboration was put on the back burner. A few months later, and I was working on this song and I thought that this would be absolutely perfect for Eulalie, so I sent it over and Eulalie sent me back 50+ tracks of incredible layered Melody and harmonies, and the rest is history! I am so grateful for your work on this song, we’ve created something truly special and it was an absolute pleasure to make with you. It was great to get the opportunity to hang out whilst you were on tour around the UK/Europe.As always, mastered by the wonderful @angusluke1st slide 📸 @angusluke by @neosuuu
