Wanting to get started on learning the Saxophone? Well look no further! Here are some tips and tricks!

Tip 1: Use a lot more air than you think you need to! It takes some big breaths to play the sax well, let alone even make sound out of it, so don’t be afraid to let it rip!

Tip 2: Working on your 12 major scales can help not only improve your playing, but can help you develop a better sound as well. Definitely a great place to start learning the notes, feel, and sound of the saxophone.

Tip 3: Keep the corners of your mouth curved inwards towards the center when blowing into the mouthpiece, and do not puff your cheeks. This will help you develop a more fluid stream of air through the sax.

Tip 4: Start with thinner reeds to get used to the feel of the sax, and then once you feel comfortable with those, go up a size and keep developing your sound that way.

Tip 5: Find a buddy to take this journey with! Having a friend to practice with, compete with, and learn together can be extremely valuable for your growth & development.

Nothing hits as hard as 1980’s vintage aesthetic. It’ll come back around, things usually do.

3. Getting to show up as my full self. Saxophone and all 🎷
4. One of the best dinners ever at @estiatoriomilos
5. On set beard touch ups are mandatory 😂
6. A special appearance by CCF CEO and an absolute legend @ossomichael
7. A 12+ hour shoot starting at 7am felt like it flew by after hearing how IBD has impacted everyone in so many similar yet different ways. I learned so much!
8. Slow Burn feat. a little saxophone 🎷
9. Everybody But You 🎷
