This was actually so hard for me to do. I feel like there are so many building blocks that go into what makes me me, so condensing it down to one post was HARD. But it was time to introduce myself for real. Hi, I’m Sam. Nerdy reader, Disney adult, author hype lady. You’ll either find me at work with a monster in my hand, or at home with my family and a book. I’m currently an ARC reader for rattle the stars, hambright, and crowns and chaos. Recently added brand ambassador for EssyWessy painting kits as well! I love to be active in the reading community, and chatting about all things bookish. (Note, sometimes i do get super overwhelmed and hide in chat corners, i’m much more comfortable talking one on one 😂) See anything we have in common? Questions for me? #meetthebookstagrammer by @nerdwhoreads91
Imagine characters from books attending your halloween party. Who would get an invite? Who would show up in what costume? Zev & Mayah are feel mildly avatar coded to me, so this doesn’t feel like much of a stretch, but would definitely be fun to see! Azaleah from To The Rotting End definitely uses her looks to her advantage, and the first thing to come to mind was Pretty Woman. Haven’t read it, but from everything i’ve seen online, this tracks 😌 Jack just won’t let go, but I can’t seem to make myself take him seriously Kit’s so unserious sometimes that this felt fitting. I love him, and his attitude so much! 🤣 by @nerdwhoreads91
Calling all fantasy romance / romantasy lovers. I’m out here trying to summon your next five star. Honestly, I could keep summoning these forever, but alas, the sun came up, and the magic ran out. Have you already read these, ran to add any to your tbr, or wanted to know more about any of my favorites? by @nerdwhoreads91
Fall TBR check in! I have been on vacation this week, but super sick. I’ve spent most of the week under the covers or with my kindle. Ya’ll I side quested so hard on this list. Was doing things, making excellent progress. And then? I read an ARC… that lead into a whole backlog side quest. Now i’m 5 books deep into a ten book series. Completed off my fall TBR -> (shown in slide two!) - a date with death, -belladona -the grim reapers lawyer -spellcaster QOTD: do you sidequest? AQOTD: what do you love to eat when you are sick? by @nerdwhoreads91
Today’s the day! The shattered crown trilogy is officially COMPLETE. When I tell you I’m obsessed with this series, I’m not kidding in the least. The author does such an excellent job of covering complicated emotions, grief, trauma, and complex themes. She also loves to flip tropes upside down, and I adore it. Tired of morally grey shadow daddies? What if she’s the shadow mommy, with a morally grey compass? And he’s sunshine incarnate? (I mean, minus the whole “who did this to you.” ) I love how much of a green FOREST Sir Knight (Cedric) is, and love to talk about this series! If you’ve been waiting to see how Cedric and Elyria’s story ends, it’s available now. If you haven’t read the series yet, why not? 🙄 My full review is available on my goodreads linked in my bio. The digital pre-order goodies were top tier, and you’ll find me at work daydreaming about my pre-order arriving 😅 I was lucky enough to be blessed with an ARC of Shadow & Son, and devoured it with zero self control -> this series is one of my favorite, and officially completed! (There’s plenty of room for spin-offs in the future though!) QOTD; what’s a popular trope you hate? Or one you love to see flipped around? by @nerdwhoreads91
At this point, we ALL know @entangled_publishing and @redtowerbooks put out absolute bangers. The publisher loves to feed our romance loving, fantasy obsessed little hearts. The Never List, and The Kings List are no exception. The author definitely grabs your attention from page one and refuses to unhand you. The Never List is a why choose, enemies to lovers with a heavy side of mystery and political corruption (one of my favored vibes in a romantasy!) We follow several different characters as they bond together to protect themselves, our FMC, and the lands. The romance, and the tension are off the charts. The Kings List picks up where The Never List left off, and doesnt stop moving. Full of action, Mystery, romance, and corruption. And the ending? 😬😱 I read these so fast, and loved every second of it, on the edge of my seat at times, clutching my invisible pearls in others, and emotionally wrecked by the end. QOTD; fated mates with why choose or a single fated pair? AQOTD: what was your latest silly purchase? by @nerdwhoreads91
A while back, a friend of mine tagged me to show my favorite special editions and sprayed edges. (Thanks for the tag @as.these.pages.turn ) With it being Fantasy Friday, I focused on my favorite fantasy and romantasy editions I have. Most are favorite reads, that I just had to have a beautiful copy of. QOTD: what’s your favorite edition you own? AQOTD: do you sense a bit of a theme here? 😅 by @nerdwhoreads91

I’m about 1/4 away from the end of my buddy read (thanks you @as.these.pages.turn for coming along with me on this one, and tackling part of my fall TBR with me!) A Date With Death has been such a fun read. It’s full of romance, opposites attracting, dark humor, and just an overall perfect fall read. I’m loving how it really has the ULTIMATE grumpy x sunshine vibe. (What could be grumpier than the grim reaper who collects the souls of the dead?) Works been rough, and absolutely draining me of the drive to do much of anything…this book is literally breathing new life into me (hahaha!) QOTD: what fall reads have you been really into? AQOTD: how do you personally handle burnout - in reading or in life? by @nerdwhoreads91
The Death-Made Prince was a favorite read of mine when released. The author, Lisette, has a way of telling stories and makes them hard to put down, and easy to immerse yourself in. Though this is a novella set in the same world, it is set many years earlier, and though shorter than a regular book it still manages to pack so much into it. The emotional depth, the trauma, the whole unfolding of the story showing us just who these two characters are and how they got to be where they are when we meet them had me turning page after page late into the night. Gon, our FMC finds her bravery and strength throughout the novella after being shoved into a box for so many years. Expectations from her mother, and the treatment from her brother turn her into a cold princess determined to be outwardly perfect while hiding anything she feels. Forced into marriage by her twin, she’s whisked off with one singular bodyguard for protection… Erik, the MMC is complex too, essentially an indentured servant (where he trades horrible deeds and unerring loyalty for his life and safety) he has his very own issues rooted deep. The unraveling of everything they have become, have been forced to become by others is genuinely euphoric. Watching them shed expectations and fears that no longer fit them after they grow to know each other. I’m so excited to have stepped back into the world of TDMP, where the author brings high stakes, big feelings, and trauma you can’t look away from. Tropes: Princess x bodyguard Unwilling allies to lovers Everyone has TRAUMA Murderous court intrigue Forbidden romance QOTD: do you prefer characters full of deep rooted trauma, or naive characters? AQOTD: what’s a book you’re looking forward to reading this month? by @nerdwhoreads91
Can TIRED TUESDAY be a thing? I’m exhausted, after staying up most of the night reading Spellcaster. Fall TBR check in, I swore I’d start with You’ll Be the Death of Me, even had a plan. But the mood reader in my soul won out, and I picked up Spellcaster instead. I have zero regrets. All of the authors books are like jumping on a rollercoaster, and having no desire to get off. It gives soap opera vibes, but make it magical, dark, and mysterious. And academia? Definitely felt like a perfect transition into fall. After finishing it, I ran to the interwebs to buy the second book. I need the next “episode” of this wild ride like I need air. Fortunately it’ll be here Thursday! 🤣 And finally scratching a book off my fall tbr list? -> QOTD: Fall TBR progress? AQOTD; what’s your favorite fall snack. Finally scratching a book off my Fall TBR list feels like such an accomplishment with how things are going 🤣 Please clap for me. by @nerdwhoreads91
