Hi my valentines 🛼💖 This is my first time doing this, but I figured I’d shoot my shot 💘 I’m fundraising for my derby season because this love affair isn’t cheap — but it is worth it. My first tournament is Feb 26–Mar 1 at Y’all Stars in Louisiana 💋✨ with more derby dates in Reno, Carson City, Wyoming, and California coming up! Any love toward my skate fund, donations, shares, or sweet good vibes, is met with big kisses and even bigger gratitude 💕 Thank you for loving me (thank you for being there) and roller derby as fiercely as I do 😘 Love always, #369 💕 Sra. “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell can you love somebody else?” - @rupaulofficial Derby is my drag. I turn a different look at each game because it makes me happy. I’m not a professional (obviously) but I do my best & just keep learning. Not everyone is gonna do a bout look & some do. If you have a signature look? Great! You don’t don’t wear any make up? Pop off! This is just what I like to do henny, this is just the beginning. Thank you @sincityrollerderby & @prisoncityrollerderby for giving me the opportunity to show up & show out. Both in looks & gameplay! Also, thank you @jovemcwaters for letting me beat your face. Your GAY-lien face beat is one of my favorites! by @nerdynat._

Cakes Cakes Cakes. Derby didn’t originally bring us together, but it made us best friends. I am so happy to have grown so close to you and have shared these amazing memories with you. We have become unstoppable on the track and in life. You’re a strong spirited, hilarious, loyal af, badass woman. If anyone is lucky enough to have you by their side they better realize it, or I will throat punch them. I hope today is your day and this month is your month. I am so happy to celebrate you and continue to make memories with you. We have so many photos from the start until now and I don’t ever want it to stop. Thank you for being you, don’t ever fucking change. I FUCKING LOVE YOU HAPPY MOTHERFUCKING BIRTHDAY! *You get me cookie, I give you cookie!” ❤️ by @nerdynat._

Our May Skater of the Month (and birthday girl) is SRA. POUND CAKES! 🎂 Cakes started roller derby in 2023. She currently skaters for our charter team, the Bad Beats, and one of our home teams, Hoover Damned. She also serves as head of fundraising and one of our coaches for our rookies program. Swipe to learn more about Cakes and her derby journey. 🧡🖤 Image description (1/5): Skater of the Month post featuring Sra. Pound Cakes. There is a faux-Polaroid frame around an image of Cakes that has her name and number #369. Big orange text says “Skater of the Month.” The top right is the SCRD logo (a spade from a playing card wth our name in a banner and a star accent behind it). Slides (2-4): The following slides use the same format. In the center is “Q” with a question and skater’s response. The SCRD logo is on each. Text reads: What got you into roller derby and how long have you played for? I have played for almost 2 years. Cherry Balboa got me to join, said I can skate and said that I would like it. She was absolutely right! Thankful for the best introduction to such a fun sport! What has being part of a roller derby community meant to you personally? It has meant everything. Making fun memories, seeing all of the growth in myself and of my teammates, wins, losses and everything in between… I wouldn’t trade it for anything. What advice do you have for people thinking about getting into the sport? Do it! Age, weight & skill level…none of that matters. Just join, have fun and do it for you! #RollerDerby #RollerSkating #RollerDerbyofInstagram #LasVegas #LasVegasLocals #WFTDA #SinCityRollerDerby #SCRDYouKnow #RollerDerbyTraining #RollerDerbyLife #ThingsToDoLV #DTLV #FYP #fypシ Skater of the Month post featuring Sra.
