I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE STREAMING SLOP. I was wrong. 😂 I went into The Family Plan expecting another generic streaming movie that I'd forget about five minutes after watching it. Instead, I actually had a great time. Mark Wahlberg does exactly what Mark Wahlberg does best, Michelle Monaghan is great, the family dynamic works, and there's plenty of fun action. Is it perfect? No. Is it a little too long? Yep. Does it reinvent the wheel? Not even remotely. But it's a good popcorn movie, and I enjoyed it enough that I'd actually buy a physical copy. MAYDAY (2026) — Movie Review I got a seven-day Apple TV+ trial specifically to watch this movie because the trailer actually looked pretty damn good. Then I watched it. There are some fun moments. Happy Saturday Shenanigans, friends! 😂🎬 Today we're going back to 2005 for Fantastic Four! Stellar Stylus sent us the Extended Edition, and after not seeing this movie in years, I was surprised by just how much I still enjoyed it. Is it perfect? Hell no. Is it a guilty pleasure? Absolutely. Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Julian McMahon make up this wonderfully cheesy version of Marvel's First Family, and the Extended Edition is absolutely LOADED with special features. I had never seen The Executioner before, and now I NEED the sequel. 😂 Sonny Chiba is fantastic in this wonderfully goofy 1974 martial arts movie packed with ninjas, assassins, mafia, crazy fights, ridiculous dialogue, 1970s blood, and plenty of shenanigans. It's weird. It's goofy. It's violent. It's hilarious. In other words... I had a great time. If you enjoy old-school martial arts movies, Sonny Chiba, or wonderfully ridiculous 1970s cinema, give this one a shot. I had NEVER heard of The Thing That Couldn't Die until Nerdy Steve loaned me his copy. Turns out it's a wonderfully campy little 1958 horror movie about a 400-year-old disembodied head, a psychic girl, and plenty of old-school shenanigans. Is it scary by today's standards? Not really. 😂 But I had a great time with it. And now I completely understand why this became one of Nerdy Steve's childhood favorites. Saturday Shenanigans is here! 🎬🍿 This week I took a walk in the woods with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte… and let's just say Nick Nolte did all the heavy lifting. 😂 A Walk in the Woods had the potential to be a really fun buddy comedy, but Robert Redford felt completely disconnected from the movie. Nick Nolte, on the other hand, was fantastic and is honestly the reason I kept watching. 🎬 RED BEARD (1965) — One of Kurosawa's Most Underrated Masterpieces I finally sat down to revisit Akira Kurosawa's Red Beard, and wow... this film still delivers. At over 3 hours long, it's definitely an investment, but every character, every storyline, and every lesson builds toward something meaningful. This is also the last film Kurosawa and Toshiro Mifune made together, making it an important piece of film history. 🐺⚔️ Hidden Anime Gem Alert! I finally sat down to watch The Boy and the Beast, and I honestly can't believe I waited this long. This movie has gorgeous animation, memorable characters, and a story about family, mentorship, and finding the strength to overcome the darkness within yourself.
