Hello and welcome to the new school year. If you’re a parent, you might be feeling relieved. If you’re a teacher, gird those loins and once more unto the breach, brave warriors!

My beginning-of-term news is going to make certain parts of the UK very happy with me, others not so much. (Sorry, Manchester.) It includes a lot of firsts for me - Scunthorpe, how I have longed to say ‘Good Evening, Scunthorpe!’ (I’m writing this on Andy’s laptop, which has a very temperamental S key; you have no idea how close to an offensive disaster this post just came.) And now I can, and it won’t be because I’m calling the Bingo Numbers. Chester, Shrewsbury, Worcester, Banbury, and Totnes - and the elusive and chic ‘Chi’. I am making it up to the fine people of Liverpool this time after we all endured what was effectively a very large sauna last autumn. And North East folks - this time round I am booked to play the Whitley Bay Playhouse, which is frankly huge, and where I think I played opening for Rufus Wainwright a few years ago. Please bring friends, otherwise this show could feel accidentally VERY intimate...

The Fire Escape Symphonies Solo Tour will take a break for Christmas and resume in the new year, into the spring of 2027 which, when I was a kid, sounded so far into the future that I imagined I would be playing a gig on Mars. I shall be playing Aldershot instead. by @nerinapallot

Thank you thank you thank you. I am still so moved by how many of you showed up for me last night. Your love and support over the last 25 years is something I will never get over, nor take for granted.

Thanks to every musician who graced that incredible stage with me and all the crew who made sure the lights went on and the sound filled your ears. It takes a village, truly.

Fire Escape Symphonies - The Best of Nerina Pallot, will be released on May 29th 2026. On vinyl and CD it features songs suggested by you. A few of you came up with the title too.
If you’ve been waiting 25 years to hear My Last Tango on vinyl, you won’t have to wait much longer.
And if you get the CD version, you get a new never before released song, Come Bring The Sun.

Clive says have a great Sunday everyone. And thank you so much if you have been to one of the shows on the tour so far - what amazing audiences you have been. A couple of days off the road and then back to business at @plougharts in Devon on Wednesday, then Trowbridge on Thursday and Stroud on Friday. by @nerinapallot

Thank you, thank you everyone who has been to the first gigs of the tour so far! Ramsgate, Shoreham and Isle of Wight what little wonders you were. The next leg starts this Thursday in Cambridge and onwards, and a month today on November 13th I am playing Norden Farm Arts in Maidenhead and it has a Steinway grand and is ten minutes from my house so it’s almost like going on tour from my living room.

Maidenhead is actually very nice, don’t listen to what people say. It’s got a very nice train station that has direct trains to Paddington and it’s on the Elizabeth line too so if you live in Abbey Wood you can just hop on the tube and hop off and arrive at my gig. It also has a Nandos, which I consider the barometer of civilisation. Once they open an Oliver Bonas then this basic b***h will WANT FOR NOTHING, NOTHING I TELL THEE.

Hope you’re enjoying the same glorious autumn sunshine I am here in the shire. STILL haven’t put the heating on. WINNING. by @nerinapallot

Hello You. I know that October seems a way off into the future, but much like Christmas - a mere 134 days away - it will soon be upon us. I for one am very much looking forward to the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness etc., etc., not least because I am getting nothing done in this weather. I am also very much looking forward to getting back out on the road because joining me for large chunks of the tour will be @maryspender and @slumberjet_

Many of you will already know Mary as a gifted singer and songwriter and YouTuber, and I am thrilled to have her open a lot of the shows on this tour. Likewise, Irish and Northern Irish folk who came to my shows last year will already know @slumberjet_ and I am so happy that Barry has agreed to come along for the ride again.

Sheffield, you will be treated to my mates @thegreatestendangeredthing and Scotland stay tuned for more news about openers for the shows at the end of November.

Some shows have already sold out, and some are close to selling out so although the autumn seems a lifetime away I wouldn’t dilly dally if I were you. Come to Airdrie or Maidenhead perhaps - they were late additions and they still have good availability which is shorthand for please buy tickets babes.

Alright. I hope you’re staying cool wherever you are. May your heatwave week be full of air-con and Fabs or Cornettos.
