I do book design. Books and type have been my thing since my childhood. What a joy of a childhood…

The first book is a compilation of songs (most Lithuanian and two by the Beatles!). It seems to consist of two publications with the content page as an insert :) Check out the page numbering throughout both books, do notice the lovely type tab work and no ragged setting used. And how consistent is typography…

The second one is a book for a play/musical which I seem to have provided just a book ‘cover design’. The title reads “Cat’s house”. I think it has been made into a musical, too…

All that is still my fav thing to do. Happy book / zine /publication design to you, too !

As a Graphic Designer, my references for the @nhm_abudhabi physically dynamic and visually seamless (in other words 2D graphics remaining in the background for the content to 'pop') galleries been spinning about human connection with nature.

Here is what drew my attention and why. I try to explore a healthy mix of international/local art, historical/contemporary, sculptural/written/mixed media works. That way to form freedom for physical and thought through graphics and all visuals in sight.

1. Jumping by Hassan Sharif (1983), an Emirati artist and prolific writer,
lived and worked in Dubai (1951-2016).

2. Another Place, installed in 1998. Antony Gormley (b. 1950)

3. Sculpture part of My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nougat, by Yto Barrada (b. 1071). Show explores self-education, architecture, palaeontology, botany, and modernist histories, in order to explore forms of knowledge production.

4. Ideas of Stone. Giuseppe Penone (b. 1947). Craft of in entwining natural stone and cast bronze within the landscape.

5. Wooden Boulder (1978). David Nash (b. 1945) carved the sphere from a 200-year-old oak tree and left it, except when seasonal rains began it drifted and became a freely travelling sculpture.

About time to share...

It has now been almost a year since Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi @nhm_abudhabi, finally has been opened, last November 22nd 2025.

Proud to have been leading Graphics for all of the concept stages back in 2021 for this stunning architectural global landmark, based on the island, part the Saadyiat cultural district neighbouring other remarkable museums such as Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

I was researching, formulating, setting up concept and all 2D graphic element approaches, such as bilingual type, information hierarchy, accessible panel design, colour palette, photography/illustrative/infographic approaches, also material panel consideration in terms of the local temperatures – all to lead way for other teams to take on during the following and final stages remaining as coherent experience. Though glad to see that the typeface and colour scheme is what we have set out from concept stages :)

The challenges were to work with shifting architectural plans and complex narratives driven by the species as well as tactile and interactive experiences by all visitors: from tourists to scientists to local school visits...

Part of super experienced multi-disciplinary teams of 3D designers, architects, internal & external content team. Thanks @ralph_appelbaum_associates NY team for having me.

I have learned so much about the 13.8billion years of history as well how to manage up to 6 months of exciting meetings, deadlines while being mum to 2yo (at the time)! by @neringastudio

In bloom. Tumi.

This is one of the last photos I have taken when studying in Johannesburg SA ~ 2004; and the next photo is one of my first ever taken still life set up photos while studying in Kaunas Lithuania ~ 1999. Both have such different meanings years later.

Do you get those moments connecting personal past with the present day and coming to some new realisations?.. I love it when it happens. Every day is like an open book. Even when no time to actually read!!

Materials for living, a project showcasing sustainable materials but I have changed the design and colours recently as way of living as in survival seems to be more poignant these days. Hence the attractive yet sweet strawberry red on a green that reminds me an old homely plastic tablecloth somehow…

Last two images showcase the initial headline old design, which sweetly was a pure more celebratory way of presenting same concept. It was presented at the Parliament gallery in Westminster, where nothing was allowed to be hung.
