Thank you, Farajii, for having me on *For the Culture*! 🙌🏽🎙️

I had such a great time talking about two topics that are especially important as we head into a new school year: **parent tips for helping our scholars succeed** and the **rise of teacher influencers on social media**. 📚✨

We talked about how parents can better support their children academically, stay engaged throughout the school year, and use social media as a resource for learning.

And of course, I shared a little about **Math Matters Tutoring** and my passion for helping students build confidence in math and ELA! 💙📖➗

I tell my story in one minute. I fell in love. Got married. The “phone” became an issue. I walked away a mother of two, deciding to take on Hollywood as a filmmaker.

Shot on Hollywood Blvd by a great rising filmmaker, Zoey Bunce, with music by @mrsbarettaworld.

I needed a little break but now I’m ready to get back to it!

This is a journey about love and self-discovery. Real and raw. More to come soon!!

Somehow, all my families invoices lined up this week and y’all, I’m one grateful ass woman! I can’t believe I work solely for myself! I work less than 20 hours a week and feel like for the first time in my life I can live.

My days aren’t bogged down with clocking in and out, spending hours in LA traffic everyday like I did last year. When my body completely shut down while I was driving, I knew I had to make a change! Prayed for it, grinded for it, took some hits, and still have growing to do.

I get to be a present mom and that’s more important to me than having a lot of money. Nyana has ballet twice a week and Nigel made the school soccer team! They also keep me busy but I manage to still find time for me!

Anywho, hope this motivates someone to keep going, keep trying! Lord knows I’m not the successful screenwriter and director I want to be YET! 🤭

Life lately! And idk, once Virgo season ended, life has been trying to fuck with me! Lol! Heck, I even came on my period today, early!

But you know what, I’m done letting a mother🤬 that is a LIAR and GASLIGHTER keep hurting me! I want more for myself and I deserve so much more emotional intelligence and safety from a grown ass man.

Sending these dusty men back to the dusty mamas who made em! 🧹🧹🧹

I don’t write poetry nearly as often as I used to but it’ll forever be something that is a part of me.

I inhaled two Kennedy Ryan books this week and I’d say they inspired me to write.

Of all my many talents, writing has always been my favorite. I want to bring my writings to life as a filmmaker. That’s the dream.

(PS, this is what happens when you stay up all night the night before, reading a book and then falling asleep at like 8pm on a Friday night. Mama was tired.)

I’m focusing on BIG POTATO stuff. This year, I want to feel less guilty for walking away from things and people that may be great but just not for me.

I refuse to settle, I’ve come too far for that. I’m very happy and grateful for all that I’ve accomplished thus far and I’m looking forward to living a BIGGER life. 🌌♍️💖👑🎂🥂💕📖✨ taken in Joshua Tree, California by @nerramuhammad_
