POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My latest album Spectral Remnants is now out on CD and Bandcamp. It's an eerie, dreamlike exploration through a psychedelic landscape of texture and rhythm. There's a link to it in my bio.

Thanks so much to @glorbis and @lexciya_ at @lizard_label for releasing this. And thanks to @brat_sampson for the incredible album art. And also thanks to Jason Letkiewicz for the terrific mastering job.

My good friend @jtcrose wrote a few words about it:

The moment didn’t last for long, not in this place. It was 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤 𝘋𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 that brought us out in the open, a deviation in our straight line-of-thought. Despite this loosening of judgements’ horizontal-hold, our sense of Dread (capital “D” Dread (the agnostic kind)) remained alive. The frenzied campaign of 𝘈𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱 that once saturated the notional landscape had vanished, leaving eddies and currents of diffuse interference to coalesce in its wake. Iridescent clouds signal and harass at the edge of alarm...

No sky up above, instead an electric eye radiates only cold comfort from that feeling of being watched. “Protect Ya Neck” rasps some shrouded paranoiac megaphone. We know it would do better to shield some other vital organ stab in the dark in this dissociative’s shadowland...

Depopulated, depersonalized, a subspace of that same tuned-to-a-dead-channel lit acid-sprawl of 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘵, 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. We’ve been surviving since who can remember when. That trick of 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘴 lets linger the ghosts of “song.” Hear? reduced to residue, dancehall apparitions’ rhythmic scaffolds wet with ectoplasmic bass slime. Turned out warehouse ghosts pool 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 pensive tension into new shimmering mirage...

Shortwave number station voices sermon on the periphery of perception. Subliminal pronouncements hector and herrie, stammer and stutter until aphony; what’s said seems important, we just can’t make it out. Clamour and din of hearsay echo “this place, this place”, leaving only 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘮𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴. by @nerv.op

Tracks in order:

1. A Powerful Scan Of Your Vital Parameters
2. Catastrophic Vortex
3. Obsidian Cavern
4. Thanatosis
5. ASCII Erebus

Nervous Operator conjures 5 gritty broken tracks with their latest release “Model Collapse” on PPRZ records. Robotic machine funk, low sub frequencies & eerie synth lines take you through the EP’s various interpretations of electro.

Tomorrow marks the release of Nervous Operator's EP titled 'Model Collapse' on PPRZ Records. 5 cuts of murky and tough electro tunes ready to give any spaces sub a work out ;)!

Nervous Operator is an electronic project by musician Spencer Davis. Started over a decade ago, it initially focused on radio and tape manipulations before expanding into rhythmic noise and ambient sounds. His music oscillates between frenetic industrial tinged electro and spacey ambient dub. While the genres may vary, his music is always characterised by a sense of foreboding, with brooding and evolving backgrounds consisting of processed field recordings and synthesis set against syncopated, bass focused rhythms.

Based in Vancouver, he has curated events as a member of artist collective Sacred Sound Club and on his own. Dedicated to the underground, he has played a wide variety of venues such as Fylkingen Stockholm, a cave at the Sutro Baths in San Francisco, and countless warehouses in Vancouver.
