Happy Adoption Day for Jackson! Cannot believe it's been a year since he joined our pack. He is constantly full of energy and playfulness but also balanced with cuddles and love. And he has helped with the healing process of losing Asher earlier this year.

Over this year, he has overcome his car sickness, his fear of water, and his shyness. He loves all dogs and humans; swims whenever possible; and runs to the car to get some window time.

The heavens gained another furry angel today. I guess his other friends needed more company. It is never easy for any pet owner to say goodbye, let alone Asher, being my first dog.

Thank you to everyone who checked in, said a quick prayer, and/or donated. Your messages brought a small smile on a dark day. Your donations will help chip away from a hefty vet bill. And your prayers provided Asher a smooth transition to his new dog park up in the clouds.

I will always be thankful for Asher always having been by my side (sometimes literally), providing comfort during some of my darkest and lowest days, and bringing me and everyone he met joy and happiness. He was a best friend, therapist, road trip guide, cuddle partner, exercise buddy, big brother, and food trash can.

I tried to give him the fullest life he could have, and I have no regrets. He subtly told me it was that time, and after I visited him at the hospital these past two days, I knew it was also that time to let him go. He lived a fun filled, adventurous life full of love.

An old friend told me "how lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. " I love you Asher. Have so much fun playing and eating to your fullest content. I will see you again

Fun fact: he was born on a farm in Illinois. He was supposedly the smallest of his litter, which is funny since he got up to 110 lb at his biggest. I found him on Craigslist, and I was excited to take him home, only for him to go spread eagle on the pavement and refuse to move. I had to lift him into the car, where he proceeded to cry for about half an hour before puppy curiosity got the better of him, and he began exploring his new surroundings.

Fun story: Easily my proudest moment as a dog dad. We were out of town, and he and his siblings were staying at Vanessa's parents. Around 2AM, Asher is scratching and barking up a storm. Her mom opens the door, and he bolts for the backyard. Surprised, she follows him where he is proceeding to bark... at the chicken coop that had caught fire. Thankfully, they were able to put it out without it spreading while Jax and Nox just sat and watch the chaos. by @nescaughtfire

Happy 1st Birthday to our youngest!

What a year it has been for the little guy. He was found as a tiny pup in a person's backyard. He was found by a student. Her family brought him back to health, and fostered it for a few months, but wanted to find a fur-ever home for him.

He joined our family pack around July. Initially, very shy, it quickly evolved into a very loving and cuddly pup mixed with crazy puppy energy, always wanting to wrestle, fetch, and play.

He loves car rides, overcame his fear of water, and all brain cells go out the door if there's a ball.
