Going Back To Badlands in Denver has become my top shows of 2025

I have been a fan since the near beginning. I spent lunches in high school streaming the songs and music videos on my little iPod in my car with a dash console that didn’t work and windows that we had to manually crank down. I’ve listened to all of Badlands on repeat. To get to go back and experience this now means more than I could put into words.

Some fun little back story, Halsey has stayed in my top 3 favorite artists. Through every era that has never changed. Their music and themselves as a person has inspired me in so many ways. In all the time I’ve been a fan, I had attempted 9 different times to see them live. All failed - from show cancellations to being in bad company. It started to all feel like some cruel joke from the universe that I’d never get to see my favorite artist live. June 24th of this year I got the pleasure to FINALLY see them live on the FMLT tour. I remember being in awe the whole time, only to question when I’ll get to again. When the Back To Badlands Tour announced, I knew I had to go and make it up to my younger self. The teenage me who made her friends listen to Ghost, Tokyo Narita, and Colors on repeat for the whole lunch period. The girl who listened to Drive dreaming of the life of traveling anywhere and creating a safe space to escape. I dreamed of getting the chance to hold Halsey’s hand screaming “Is There Somewhere” lyrics. Yet it happened.

To really top the whole show off, hearing 100 Letters after I have manifested and prayed to hear it. 100 Letters became basically a soundtrack through a very hard time. I’ve probably streamed it over a million times. This is the closest I’ll probably ever get to photographing them, and I’m trying to not be so hard on myself. Hopefully there’s something there that caught your eye. If you’ve read this far in my little fangirl rant. A little one shot clip of one of my favorite songs from Cardinal Bloom at their latest show

Under The Oak Tree has always been one of my favorites of theirs live. The energy from both crowd and the fellas during this part of the song is always unmatched and what I think about often when I talk to people about going to see them live. I’ve always had it in the back of mind that I wanted to grab a one shot clip of it but never having the chance because of limited stage space or doubting myself.

The clip is not perfect by any means. Camera audio gets a little tough when I’m in front of the drum set because I forgot my camera mic. You can probably tell where I hesitate even going for it because I didn’t want to get in front of the film crews way. Juggling the camera in my hands. On the brighter side, I didn’t walk into Joey. But overall, I’m learning! Talking myself into take the risks like these clips.

Happy National Alopecia Areata Month 🥚

I can’t remember the last time I talked about this on here, I’ve never had an actual hard post exist talking about this but figured no time is better than now 💛 (in summary if you don’t care to read the rest: omg she’s bald)

I’ve had Alopecia Areata on and off since I was about 7 years old. In 2019 it crept back up and there was no sign in any type of regrowth in the spots I had lost hair like years prior. In 2020 I made the decision to cut my hair and completely shave it down, I haven’t looked back since then. This one feature about me is one that still gives me anxiety, one that often sets me back. I still make last minute decisions running out of the house to grab a wig, I am often having to talk myself down that people aren’t staring at me. This year however, is definitely the most I’ve improved. I left the house and gone out in public 32 days so far this year, which is more than I have ever before years prior. When I hit the 30 day mark figured why not take a step farther and make a post about it. There are good days and hard days, but overall I’ve accepted it. Shaving down my head was me accepting that I’ll always have this, which is something I fought hard with my entire childhood and teenage years. But accepting that this is a part of me has been a wonderful journey and I know I still got so much to learn.

Grateful for all of my friends who have hyped me up, grateful to anyone who’s shared kind words. Grateful to all the other alopecia bald baddies who inspire me to have come this far. If you’ve ever thought my hair was cool and wanted tips on styling I’m so sorry that it’s been fake all along. Don’t forget to Treat People With Kindness 💛✨
