Two Songs in D: 'Lanternface' (one of mine) and ofc Everlong (Not one of mine 😅 Acoustic and Full Band if you slide.... 👀)

I've always had a rocky relationship with acoustic guitars.... I hated them for years, especially when I was Mr. edgelord teen 🙄🫠. However nowadays, I find myself picking up the acoustic and finding new ways to let my songs breathe. Sometimes I'll record some acoustic stuff just to keep my mind fresh. Always break your rules and inhibitions with music, and art in general.

Both Lanternface and Everlong are in Dmaj... This was just a fun run through I did of each, re-trying them out on acoustic.🎶

"I think I've earned this spite, and everything that's wrong is right for me, I think I learned in time, I'm gatekeeping my own destiny."

Juxtaposed with...

...is kind of a nice blend for a post ❤️

(Also the spectacular lads playing in the 3rd clip @bacisst @ty_drums @gube_7 and myself had NEVER played this song together, or really learned it, and this was the first time going through it all the way, and it started out as a JOKE. They never cease to amaze me 🤘🤘🤘 Shout-out in the comments if you want to hear Lanternface or Everlong live sometime??)

Individual Poster 13: Finally, we're playing our last show of the tour at Gabe's in IC! I couldn't be more thrilled! Not only is Gabe's a dope venue, but we're playing with a ton of amazing bands. I also want to give a shout out to Kane Edwards who played in a band we played with WAAAAY back called Lipstick Homicide. Kane seriously hooked me up with bands faster than I could even imagine. If any of you have ever booked a show/tour, you know that someone helping you with names and confirmations from a spot you're not in is a Godsend, especially when it's 'crunch time' and you have to start giving names to the venue. I have a lot of family and friends out in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area, so I'm ridiculously excited to play our last date there!! Also, 'Look @ Me' is joining us for a 2nd night in a row, and I guarantee one of the nights we're going to definitely hit up a cover together 👀🤘

Come join us on the last night of our tour where we're going to definitely pull out all the stops!

Poster Art : Like Cabooze, this addition to the tour was a last minute decision. Things aligned perfectly, But I had already made the poster for Lefty's, as the 'Last Date'. I kind of saw this as a 'End Credits' poster (geez I'm dramatic, I do this kind of thing in the albums too 🙄😅) I basically took the blue haze that I had in the main poster, and combine some different elements of noise. I also found a skyline similar to something that I had in the first poster I made, this beautiful blue and orange sunset. I combined all of that with this 'jean' stylized texture I found. I really like this poster for its simplicity and color scheme, And thought it was a nice cool note to end the tour on! (Fun fact: in almost all of the artwork, there is a hidden angel. Little preview to this dumb little 'concept album series' I have 😂. Good luck finding them though!)

Poster 12: Lefty's. When I was first looking up venues in Des Moines, (which for some of you non Iowans, is the capital of Iowa), I wanted to try to find something that seemed like a good sounding venue. I could tell that Lefty's has really good sound there, But would definitely drew me and was their homepage had a picture of a dog 🐶😂. After I found out that they were having an emo night there a couple weeks before our date, I knew it was going to be a good fit! A few of the bands from that emo night are actually playing the show, and I met a lot of awesome people searching for this gig! This is another one of those hometown shows where I get to show a lot of friends and family what I've been up to in California the last few years! It's also an all ages show (God knows we had a lot of back and forth on that!) Which means we're actually getting in the show at 9:00 p.m., which means we might actually get some sleep 😂 Hope everyone comes out and gets emo with us!

Poster Art: For this one, I found this cool texture I liked that was a bunch of dots and Had a lot of pink and purples (which I actually ended up having to tone down a bit!). I decided to make this one 'pop' quite a bit, being a collage of colors that I've used from previous posters. The show was ultimately going to be the last show, until we actually ended up booking another awesome 'last date' of the tour run, So I thought it would be cool to combine a lot of colors from previous poster.

Individual Poster 11: Woah. We're playing The Cabooze. I can't believe it! When I found out Cabooze was a 1000 cap venue, I immediately texted 'the boys' and told them this venue was one of the widest/wildest looking venues I have ever seen! 😂 We're super stoked and honored to play such a landmark venue! A lot of friends and family live in MN now, so it'll be really cool to see 'em! I know large venues are hard to pack, but we're definitely going to fill this thing up with a lot of amazing people to watch some amazing bands! There's definitely a great mix of genres for this one, probably the most mixed bill of this tour run!

Fun fact: This gig was one of the last ones to actually line up and work. When I got a solid confirmation from the venue, I had to find bands within half of a week or so of our announcement. That means I messaged over 110 BANDS TOTAL. I never try to mass message musicians, because I don't want to come off as insincere, or God forbid, book 110 bands for one night, so I quite literally have to take it 2 or 3 bands at a time 😂 I've met SO MANY awesome musicians through the booking process, and I can't wait to play with some of them that Sunday, and even more in the future.

So Minnesota peeps, come check this gig out, It's our only date in MN, you definitely don't want to miss this!

Poster Art : I don't know why, but I really kept going back to doing something with 'Inception', since that movie had a lot of impact on how to write (or avoid to write!) the concept albums. I'm fascinated with architecture on posters, and just love the look of certain buildings in art, so I started with making an inception style building, where you don't know where it starts/end. Then, I found this spinning top art, which I 'noised' up a little. I added layers of noise/scratches, and voila! I actually really dig the poster without all the text, I may post that individually!

Individual Poster 10: Fox Den Motel. While researching gigs for the 17th, I thought it would be kind of cool to play in the very spot that I was born, Dubuque, Iowa. I stumbled across Fox Den by looking at a few places that other bands I was following played. I got in touch with Jeremy, who runs the show at Fox Den. I've been talking with him quite a bit, and he's such a nice dude! Even if it was not the most opportune time for us to get a supporting act (pretty much all the local artists were playing there within a month) he basically said we could have the night to chill and play some tunes! Joining us from the previous night, is our new friend Vitamjn, who we are excited to play with again! Rumor has it that will all be making and cooking pasta either prior to the gig or after. Or who knows, maybe even during 😂 We'll definitely be cooking something! (but not in the 'Breaking Bad kind of way...) 😂

Poster Art: For the art for this poster, I was running into a problem where I had too much red going on. I was using a lot of orange foxes for texture, but they all ended up looking a lot like either the red posters, or the Cabooze brown poster. Instead I decided to go for a 'Silky' Fox texture, using different watercolor photos and different colors of foxes fur that I could find (blue, grey, yellow white etc.). I bet you there's like eight foxes in this poster!

Individual Poster 8: The Raven Room. I think we're a bit crazy for doing this, but we are going to go directly from our show in Ames all the way over to Chicago. Why? Because tour, that's why. I ended up setting up a lot of Iowa dates, But just with the limited time that we had before Christmas, it was hard to figure out outside dates. We originally were going to Kansas, and unfortunately that show had to be canceled for the meantime (see you in May, Woodshed!). However, a great opportunity at Raven Room opened up, And I was very skeptical that this gig would go through. However, things fell into place super quick, and I got to meet some really really cool bands, some of which we are playing with that night!

Everybody has been super cool that I've talked to, both the venue and bands, so I'm very excited for this gig! My cousin and a few friends live out in Chicago, so I'm really hoping that they might make it out! What's even crazier, is that my good friend Vivian Who plays with us a lot here in California, is visiting her parents out in Illinois, and said that she's going to probably make it! Who knows, she might even play bass for a song!!🤘👀

Poster Art: This poster started out very similar to the Crowley's poster, So I wanted to combine elements from that but take it a few steps further. There's probably eight or nine different textures happening there, and I upped it to about 4 or 5 Ravens! Also, this is the poster that accidentally made me put 'Red Room' instead of 'Raven Room in Redline VR'. because of how much red there was 😂.

Individual Poster 7: A Hole. Our first night show in Iowa, And what's a better way for things to 'feel like home' than playing a house show! The dudes over at The A Hole (yes... That's the name!) Have been so easy to communicate with, and so have all the bands that we're going to play with! The 14th is also the day that finals are done at ISU, So I hope everybody comes out and hangs! (Fun fact, my Dad John and a bunch of family went to ISU!)

This is also not just a double duty, but technically a QUADRUPLE duty day, as we're technically playing four sets throughout the day! I hope you come see us at our most caffeined out!! 🤘😂

Poster Art: For the artwork for this poster, I wanted to kind of go for a house theme, since this is our house show on the tour. I thought that it would be cool to take a collage of all these scary houses, like The Evil Dead Cabin, Michael Myers's house, the Stanley hotel from The Shining, amongst a few other haunted houses and collide them together, creating this surreal scene of windows, doors, and wood. Pretty soon here, there's going to be another poster made by our friends who work with the A Hole, and I can't wait to promote both of them!!

Individual Poster 4,5,6: Carroll High School Showcase. This is going to be quite a different kind of show for us! Not only are we playing at 8:00 a.m. in the morning, which is almost 12 hours before what we normally play, But we're playing to a bunch of high schoolers! Not just any high schoolers though, these are kids that are taught by my old band teacher Wayne Lu. I honestly wouldn't be a musician today if I hadn't gone through the band program, and I thought this would be a really cool experience to show the kids some music And also talk about what it's like being a full-time musician. (I also really like this design that I made so I made a couple variants for each period that we're doing)

Poster Art: For the poster art, if you look really carefully, you can see a tiger buried within this world of whirls! There's a lot of layers on this like most of the posters, a lot of the texture is fur and swirls. Hard to choose my favorite, but the blue is what I chose for the first one (I'll probably post the variants off the grid). My old high school mascot was the tigers, and ironically, so is Carroll High School's, so there's a lot of tiger stuff in there!
