Hello from my little nest to yours on a beautiful autumn day here in Rittenhouse! 🍂

I finished this sweet little quilted gathered fabric basket today, hand sewing the last of the binding around the top. It’s soft and puffy, reversible, and just the little something I wanted to hold the yo-yos I’m making for a holiday project. ✨🌟💛

These beautiful fabrics “Le Petit Bonheur” from Kim Hurley of @luccellomelbourne , paired with her woven pink and red gingham, are so beautiful . Even my yo-yos are getting a pretty little nest of their own! 🪺

Having a little hand sewing with me really helps pass the time during treatments. 🪡The nurses are always interested in what I’m working on, and it’s lovely to share a little sewing chatter while I’m there.🌼

Afterward, I took a long leisurely walk home along the Schuylkill River Trail. It was absolutely gorgeous—the fall foliage, the garden, and so much beauty to stop and enjoy. I took a few photos to share with you, too. 🍂💛 Now that the weather is cooler it’s less stressing for me to be outside in the heat. It was wonderful!! 😘

Two custom quilted patchwork zipper bags, made with @judynewman lovely Milkwood collection, are headed to Australia! 🧵✈️ 🇦🇺 🩷

I just finished these two, and what a joy they were to make. Those pretty florals, little blue birds, and cheerful checks made choosing each patchwork square such a pleasure. 💛A little lace and a sweet bee zipper charm finished them off. 🐝

They’ve got quite a journey ahead, and I’m so excited for my customer to receive them and fill them with her own lovely projects. 🪡🌸

Happy Sewing Saturday from my little nest in Rittenhouse! 🍁🪡

Some mornings are made for slowing down, sipping coffee, and of course, making yo-yos!! Today, This morning. I’m taking a short break from project bags to play at my sewing table with this pretty red woven gingham and polkadots from Kim Hurley of @luccellomelbourne. 🩷❣️🩷

I have a few holiday sewing ideas tucked away, but I’m enjoying giving myself time to see what unfolds. There’s something so lovely about stitching without rushing—and, of course, I think yo-yos make everything better! 🩷🪡

Hello, dear friends, from my little nest in Rittenhouse🪺🪡🩷

I was going to wait until I had a few bags finished, but I really can’t help myself 😆

Some fabric is even prettier than you imagined! ✨ I was sososo looking forward to this new collection from @augustelleryatelier … when I opened the package, I let out a little squeal of delight! Actually, it was more like, “Oh my gosh, this is gorgeous!” 🩷✨💜✨🩵The turquoise, violets, sweet flowers, gingham, and those darling kitty cats—how adorable! 🌸 🐈‍⬛

I chose each fabric from the collection for some very special quilted patchwork project bags, add a little lace and a sweet paw-print zipper pull, and you can see where I’m headed! If you love kitty cats and pretty things, I think you’ll love these. 🐾

They’d make such lovely holiday gifts for a stitching friend—or a little treat for yourself. I’ll be listing the bags in my Etsy 🧡 shop this weekend. A new month of patchwork, hand stitching, and quilted project bags begins here in my little nest in Rittenhouse.🍂🪺

October always makes me want to gather fabrics in cranberry, faded rose, golden ochre, and warm brown—and see what happens when they meet at my sewing table. There’s so much pleasure in choosing that next little piece! 💛✨

This month, I’m making room for creativity, time with loved ones , a slower pace when I need it, and the joy of sharing what I make with you.🪡🧡

English paper piecing flowers are growing in my little nest this Sunday. 🌸🪺🪡

I’ve started a Grandmother’s Garden quilt with 1½”hexies. The hand stitching is so relaxing, and I’ll be able to take it with me to all of my treatments to pass the time. 🪡 How pretty is this fabric from Kim Hurley of @luccellomelbourne 🌸 from her beautiful Constance collection. The stripe is from Tilda’s Tea Towel collection, I think they go so beautifully together! The center is a precious little bit from Ms Hurley 💓Thank you ✨

There’s a nor’easter here in Rittenhouse today, with plenty of rain and wind. I think I’ll stay right here in my cozy nest and start stitching-another flower, and finish up a few project bags to offer later today. And catch some football 🏈!!
