The Resource Rush | Exhibition | 2026

A model-based exploration presented through a series of eight handcrafted architectural models.

Four white, 3D-printed models represent extraction systems: the Karish gas platform, the Soreq Nuclear Reactor, the Dead Sea Potash Conveyor, and the Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan.

These are complemented by four large-scale, detailed fragmentary design models-crafted by hand from raw materials of aluminum, volcanic stone, plaster, and wood.

The Resource Rush | 2026

Contemporary architecture has become the executive arm of the rush for natural resources, serving systems of capital and power through infrastructures designed to maximize extraction.
The Dead Sea potash conveyor, the Karish FPSO, the Diamond Exchange, and the Soreq Nuclear Reactor may appear unrelated, yet they share the same logic: architecture becomes a monumental object that conceals environmental damage and distances the public from its natural resources.
This project proposes an architectural approach shaped by the Aftermath- designing beyond the era of extraction, with responsibility toward the resource, the land, and the community.
Tiberias was chosen as a case study of a city that grew around its natural resources- the hot springs, the Sea of Galilee, and basalt- but gradually lost access to them. The route of the Old City wall becomes the backbone of a new public system, while an open aqueduct returns the spring water to the city through bathhouses, pools, public spaces, and viewpoints. Built with minimal impact on the ground, the proposal combines local basalt gabions with a lightweight modular structure, introduces floating fishing platforms, and transforms the existing waterfront building into an active public infrastructure.
Rather than concealing resources, the proposed architecture reveals them, restoring public access and re-establishing a direct relationship between people and the natural systems that sustain them.
