First night in Rome and we visited this amazing church on the way to Trevi Fountain. On our way home, we again stumbled onto the Pantheon with no barricades. Amazing to see the scale of it up close without the crowds. by @nettx76

Still can’t believe what we fit in on our first day in Rome. We arrived at the Spanish Steps on a sweltering hot day to see lots of people gathered around the fountain at the bottom which meant the stairs had a few less people for photos 😊
We made our way up to the top to see our first high view of Rome and stepped inside Trinita dei Monti at the top. Yet another example of incredible art and architecture which we were about to see in spades throughout the rest of the trip. taken in The Spanish Steps, Roma, Lazio, Italy by @nettx76

Heading to find a shop in Rome and stumbling upon history. Piazza di Pietra with the columns remaining of Hadrian’s Temple built around 145 AD. Around the next corner, the column of Marcus Aurelius with historical battle scenes carved around it from around 185 AD. taken in Piazza di Pietra by @nettx76

Discovering the Pantheon for the first time was interesting because we arrived at it from the back. This part is often not seen and it’s just amazing to see how well built this thing was, standing for over 2000 years. We also found a rat scurrying around. by @nettx76
