⚾️🧢 Fantastic new inclusion initiative in Chicago Major League Baseball stadium.

🔎 Wrigley Field, a historic Major League Baseball (MLB) stadium in Chicago and the iconic home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs, has established a new standard for inclusion in professional sports by becoming the first MLB ballpark designated as a Certified Autism Center, ensuring a supportive environment for neurodiverse fans. Through tailored training for over 80% of staff, a dedicated sensory room, and sensory kits, the venue now offers enhanced accessibility to prioritize the comfort and inclusion of autistic and sensory-sensitive visitors.

💫 True inclusion in sports requires removing environmental barriers, such as intense sensory stimulation, to ensure neurodiverse individuals feel welcomed, valued, and able to participate in the collective joy of live events.

💫 Expanding these initiatives across the sports and entertainment industry is essential to establish accessibility as a universal standard, allowing for greater dignity and participation in public life for all fans.

👉 At @neuro_fab we are excited to see such amazing initiatives being implemented across sports and we truly hope for a global extension. by @neuro_fab

#Neuroinclusion, #Neurodiversity, #Acceptance, #Accomodation, #Empathy

🎤 Every child deserves real acceptance, accommodation, and empathy.

🔎 This isn’t an inspirational goal; it is the absolute baseline. When we talk about supporting neurodivergent children - whether in our schools, workplaces, or communities - we need to move past simple “tolerance.”

✔️ Real acceptance means celebrating how a child’s mind works, rather than forcing them to mask or conform.

✔️ Real accommodation means adapting the environment to fit the child, not forcing the child to break themselves to fit the environment.

✔️ Real empathy means looking past a “behavior” to understand the sensory overload, communication barrier, or emotional need underneath.

💫 For the parents, educators, and leaders reading this: true inclusion starts when we stop treating basic human needs as optional favors.

👉 At @neuro_fab we advocate for a culture that empowers individuals to thrive, rather than forcing them into a single mold. by @neuro_fab

#Neuroinclusion, #Neurodiversity, #Stimming, #SensoryRegulation, #SelfRegulation

💡 Inclusion starts with understanding - What is stimming?

🔎 Stimming, or self-stimulatory behaviour, is often misunderstood and can initially look concerning or unusual to outside observers. It involves repetitive physical movements or sounds, such as intense hand-flapping, rocking back and forth, pacing back and forth, or repeating specific words. For neurodivergent kids and teens, these behaviours often appear when they are visibly overwhelmed, highly anxious, or struggling to cope with their immediate environment.

👉 Behind these actions is a mind trying desperately to find balance in a world that feels too loud, too bright, or too chaotic. Stimming serves as a critical, subconscious coping mechanism to manage intense sensory overload or deep emotional distress. It is a vital tool for self-soothing, helping them block out painful stimuli, release built-up internal tension, and regain control over their bodies.

👉 When you see a youth stimming, react with calm acceptance instead of trying to stop or correct the movement. Take a breath, lower your voice, reduce local sensory triggers like bright lights or loud noises, and offer a comforting, non-judgmental presence. Suppressing these natural actions increases their anxiety, so creating a safe, supportive space allows them to naturally regulate and recover.

💫 Approaching them with gentle empathy and unconditional support reminds them that they are safe and loved exactly as they are.

☀️ Summer ideas for neurodivergent kids - Creating quiet time to help kids recharge

💫 Just like batteries, a child’s nervous system requires intentional downtime to plug in, rest, and recalibrate.

💫 Summer environments are frequently loud, unpredictable, and highly social. For children with ADHD, autism, or Tourette’s, managing these settings requires immense masking power. When you factor in the physical fatigue of dyspraxia, or the academic-style fatigue experienced by children with dyslexia and dyscalculia in new environments, midday burnout is highly predictable.

👉 At @neuro_fab, we emphasize the value of « zero-demand zones. » Protecting these spaces allows children to completely drop the mask, relax their muscles, and release physical tics without fear of judgment. Allowing them to deeply immerse themselves in their special interests in a quiet room is the single most effective way to reset their nervous system for the days ahead.

☀️ Summer ideas for neurodivergent kids - Helping kids notice what their body needs

💫 A child transition from perfectly content to completely dysregulated within a matter of seconds on a warm day can be common.

💫 Often, neurodivergent children do not consciously register internal physiological shifts until their nervous system reaches a point of crisis.

💫 An ADHD, autistic, or dyspraxic brain can become so deeply engaged in an activity that it entirely misses the warning signs of dehydration or rising body temperatures.
Furthermore, expecting a child with dyscalculia to independently monitor fluid intake or calculate time spent in the sun adds an unnecessary cognitive burden.

💫 At @neuro_fab, we support building predictable, physical hydration parameters directly into their environment. This keeps their bodies regulated and actively prevents heat-induced distress.

☀️ Summer ideas for neurodivergent kids - Simple ways to cool down sensory overload

💫 The summer season can quickly become a complex sensory minefield for a sensitive nervous system.

💫 For neurodivergent children, common physical sensations can cause rapid sensory overload. Sweat can feel intensely abrasive, sunscreen can feel intolerably restrictive, and bright sunlight can cause actual physical discomfort.

💫 For children with autism or Tourette, this sensory distress frequently manifests as severe dysregulation or an escalation in tics. For children with dyspraxia, the combination of sensory overload and restrictive, sweat-soaked clothing can make gross motor coordination feel even more frustrating and exhausting.

💫 At @neuro_fab, we advocate for protecting these sensory boundaries early. Cultivating a customized “Summer comfort kit” helps children feel safe and anchored in their bodies, allowing them to participate in outdoor spaces comfortably.

☀️ Summer ideas for neurodivergent kids - Making summer days easier to predict.

💫 While summer offers a welcome break, the sudden loss of a structured school routine can be incredibly overwhelming for the neurodivergent brain.

💫 Without a predictable schedule, anxiety can spike rapidly. For children with ADHD, autism, or dyspraxia, unexpected transitions often lead to emotional meltdowns. For children navigating Tourette Syndrome, this elevated stress can also cause a temporary increase in motor or vocal tics.

💫 Using a picture-based visual choice board rather than text-heavy schedules or rigid timestamps can provide inclusive structural support for neurodivergent children - keeping the household flexible, calm, and predictable.

How does your family manage the transition to summer schedules? Let us know in the comments below. 👇
