April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, and here at Neuroboxing, we know the importance of movement.
Unlike medications, which are considered short-term solutions as they become less effective over time, exercise is a powerful long-term solution aiding in balance, coordination, agility, and strength.
Let our Fighters inspire you to stay active and come join our classes throughout the Ventura County 💪💙 taken in Ventura County by @neuroboxing

Starting our week off with proprioception exercises!

What is proprioception?
Proprioception is known as the body's "sixth sense". It is the unconscious understanding of where your body parts are in relation to each other and to space. It's critical for tasks like walking, running, and writing, as it helps you control the force and direction of your movements.

Come exercise your body's sixth sense with us on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays! taken in Thousand Oaks, California by @neuroboxing

Why are we punching paint instead of punching bags?
Art has many benefits for those with Neurodegenerative Diseases, some examples are:
🎨 Emotional Expression - Engaging in art allows individuals with neurodegenerative diseases to express their emotions and thoughts in a non-verbal way, helping them to communicate and connect with others.
🎨 Cognitive Stimulation - Art activities stimulate various cognitive functions, such as attention, memory, and problem-solving skills. This can help slow down the progression of neurodegenerative diseases and improve overall cognitive functioning.
🎨 Sense of Achievement - Completing an art project can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases, helping to maintain a positive outlook and improve their quality of life.

While art cannot cure neurodegenerative diseases, it offers a range of benefits that can significantly enhance the well-being of those affected by these conditions.

So, yea, sometimes we punch paint! 🥊 taken in Thousand Oaks, California by @neuroboxing
