As August comes to an end today. We look back at the work we were able to do for the kids in our community this month. Art is important and should be well funded and kept alive for children to practice and experience. We've done the research, we've spoken to kids and parents. Children around Nigeria are slowly losing access to practical arts. Many of the children who worked with us were only painting, colouring or touching a paint brush for the first time in their lives. These are 12 year olds, 10 year olds and even early years. This is alarming and should be spoken about more.
Who dreams imagines the future and puts it on paper for everyone to see? Children who are able to create and have the opportunity and tools to.

In Nigeria, a number of schools around the country have removed practical fine and applied arts from the curriculum. This August we held a free workshop with the kids in our community to advocate to keep the arts in schools. Not just in theory but in practice. We have heard about the "olodo uprising", how can we complain about our future whilst refusing to nurture the minds of the ones who would dream it. We believe that if there's a future for a country then the minds of the children must be free to imagine and create. For Nigeria, We believe that Art Will Save Us.

We must begin to see these changes in our schools.

This holiday season, we're honing in on the arts at our STEAM Camp. As part of our advocacy, we're using our Artsy August to give children in our community an exciting opportunity to discover their creative genius through play and creative artistic expression.

With the current cognitive decline in our communities, we've identified that while core subjects are being taught and pushed for children, the arts have become sidelined or seen as less important. We believe "Art Will Save Us."

Research has shown in a study that people who started businesses and contributed to patent applications that made a difference were more likely than their peers to have leisure hobbies that involved drawing, painting, sculpture, and literature—with success odds as high as 22x.

Art provides a unique breadth and perspective that teaches the mind to find out-of-the-box solutions in everyday life. If we continue to treat something as vital as art as ordinary, it is little wonder we see a society that continues to lack depth and openness to the world around it.

This holiday season, we are partnering with @ecwstudios , a creative studio that believes in everything we do, to give children the artistic depth they need to keep going! Through play and creative expression, we are empowering children in our community and society at large to discover their inner creative genius.

We had an amazing time with the kids this Friday!🚀 From storytime to play-based exploration and project-led discovery, STEAM Camp is quite an experience!...To quote one of the kids: It’s a day they wish would happen all over again.🤗

We are sincerely grateful for the generosity of our community—our patrons and parents. Thank you for helping us make this event special for them.🥰

We believe our children deserve an education as joyful and dynamic as they are🐣... We are intentional about nurturing a generation of bold thinkers and innovative creators, one holiday at a time.🎉

We just held our first STEAM Camp in August, for the 'Neuroboxx Educare Community' of parents and children, and it was quite the experience. A creative learning camp/ edutainment event in line with our advocacy programme 'Learning Beyond Walls'.

Over the years, we have always advocated for unconventional learning through play, presenting a crucial factor responsible for cognitive development in children.

Child development is our core, and whatever ways we can help our children learn and grow up to become the best version of themselves, you would find us ready to serve. But we cannot do this alone; parents, we need you.

We believe that, it is of most importance parents understand that education begins first at home. You are your child's first and most important teacher and a lot of who they turn out to be, would be based off of how much of yourself you give to them and the intentionality you put into making sure they get the right education they need to thrive.

Don't they? We would agree that our lives are a little brighter because of the children we are privileged to cater too. Although sometimes daunting, we are equally rewarded by the pure light they possess within them.

One of the themes of this year's Children's day theme focuses on children's art and creativity. At Neuroboxx art and creativity are tools in our bag used to promote cognitive skill development in children while generally just having fun! Our patrons can testify to this.

As we enter into the last few months of the term, we use this opportunity to encourage patrons to sign up ahead of the 2024/2025 academic session beginning in September this year. Don't worry there will be follow up emails. We love you and commend your efforts to a consensus to promote quality education for your Children.

Anyone you meet has a story of how 'school' failed them. Even today, there's a child who could be more, if only the education system would equip them to become all that they could be.

But as I have come to understand, if we only keep talking about our failing education system, and do nothing, we risk imprisoning generations to come.

This is why we have developed the Learning Beyond Walls Programme (LBWP). A research project currently being implemented in schools within the FCT - to explore the impact of unconventional learning in the classroom - exposing children to an amazing world beyond the curriculum, while equipping them with relevant cognitive skills needed to thrive not just in the classroom but also in the real world.

We believe that; Education is more than the curriculum and every child deserves an education that equips them for the challenges of life...

Education is undoubtedly the most important part of a child's life. We are blessed with the opportunity to mold souls, the responsibility to raise a generation and a platform to leave imprints that would last for generations to come.
Education certainly transcends the walls of the classroom and it's our duty to ensure that our children get the best learning experiences wherever they may be, 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨.
