Dear Premier Basketball Club Families,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our Premier Basketball Club family members, Coach Sonny Macaluso.
Coach Sonny served as the head coach of our Colorado Premier U11 Boys team and as an assistant coach for our Colorado Premier U10 Boys team. He also had the privilege of coaching his two boys, something that brought him tremendous pride and joy.
While many of you may not have known Sonny personally, he represented everything Premier Basketball Club strives to be. He built more than basketball teams; he built a community where players, parents, and coaches felt connected and supported.
Sonny coached his players with high expectations, but they always knew he loved them and believed in them. He challenged them to work hard, compete, and become better young men both on and off the court. He coached the right way, with integrity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to every child he worked with. He is someone all of us can learn from.
His impact extended far beyond wins and losses. The relationships he built and the lives he touched will continue to shape our club for years to come.
Please keep Sonny’s wife, his kids, his parents, extended family, and everyone who loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Premier Basketball Club has always been about more than basketball; we are a family. In moments like this, we lean on one another, support one another, and honor those who have made our community stronger.
Rest in peace, Coach Sonny. Thank you for showing us what it means to lead with love, coach with purpose, and build a community that will never forget you. by @nevada_premier
