A glimpse of my Parsons BFA Fashion Design thesis project in which I explored creating fashion products as vessels for holistic healing. My design philosophy was profoundly shaped by my personal health challenges- the overall deterioration of my health as a young adult led me to discover the transformative power of holistic medicine. My thesis advocates for the integration of healing properties into fashion design- emphasizing that our garments should act as a second skin that not only reflects our spiritual aesthetics but also promotes a better quality of life. Some of the wearables imaged above include: A collection of cuffs specially molded to the wearer's ear, touching auricular acupressure points targeting specific health issues such as inflammation, immunity, digestion and stress. Aromatherapy pendants: designed to hold Ayurvedic dyed wool inserts, where essential oils are applied and aromatherapeutic properties are released slowly throughout the day. This can promote relaxation, relieve stress, boost mood, and even help with ailments such as headaches or respiratory issues. Crystal Platform Boots: a product of my material studies in growing crystals on leather and sheepskin, transforming traditional materials into articles embodying higher vibrational energy. The Colossal sheepskin bag- majorly oversized, meticulously crafted, and designed to carry all life’s belongings. And, the Glide bag- the true cargo companion. More to come 🤍 by @neverechan
