This album is about being unapologetic and not letting anything stop you. At this point it’s safe to say I basically grew up creating this project. I spent six years becoming a grown ass man, plotting, making moves in silence, studying the game, graduating, making mistakes and learning, gaining wisdom, watching the way the world operate, moving differently from everyone else, struggling and overcoming, losing and winning, falling and getting back up again. You can never truly fall off if you come back stronger. It goes way deeper than music or scripture, it’s about real life. That’s what this militant shit is about. With that being said, happy militant season. This belongs to y’all now. 🫡

Ex-General is a Brooklyn-raised underground hip hop artist and producer who thrives to push originality, introspection, and a sense of eccentricity in his artistry. He has spent over a decade as both an independent artist and a live performer and has been involved in multiple citywide competitions, events, and showcases within NYC and overseas. He uses his lyricism to dive deep into stories and ideas that are heavily influenced by both his upbringing and his life growing up in a robust urban environment. The sonic elements of his music are inspired by boom bap, alternative hip hop, psychedelic rock, and soul tunes from the 60s and 70s.
