Disneyland After Hours Events are super fun theme hard events that require their own ticket for entry. They take place at the park after closing.

There are benefits and drawbacks to being in Disneyland on an After Hours Event day.

Benefit: The host park is likely to have low attendance, many guests will take a break from the park during the daytime to rest up for the party later.

Drawback: The host park will close early, so make sure you know if you’ll be there during one of these events! You can plan your be at a different park for the evening if you want to be out late!

3 Things To Do Every Night Before Bed in When Visiting Disney

I promise, it’s all easy to do and super easy to forget, but it will set you up for success for the next day 💛

Repack Your Park Bag - after a whole day getting in and out of your bag, it’s going to be a mess! You’ll accumulate receipts, wrappers, pins, all kinds of stuff. Take a few minutes to repack your bag to make the next day smoother.

Recharge Your Charging Things- charging bricks don’t do any good if they themselves aren’t charged! You use your phone a lot in Disney nowadays. Your life will be so much easier if you know you have a power source.

Drink Water- I’m guessing you didn’t drink enough water throughout out the day. (don’t worry, I usually don’t either) Keep bottled water in your room refrigerator and drink up as much as you can!

Disneyland is home to a lot of different settings. Main Street is set in 1910 in Marceline, Missouri, Frontierland is set in the Wild West the 1800’s, Tomorrowland is set in 1986. and Galaxy’s Edge is set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

With such diverse environments in one park, it’s kind of unbelievable how seamless the transition is from land to land.

The fact is, a LOT of imagineering and science has gone into making sure the guests hardly notice when they’re leaving one land and entering another. The ground material changes slowly, architecture changes naturally, the music fades into something perfect for the new setting.

One of the most remarkable transitions in my opinion is between Frontierland to Galaxy’s edge.

One moment you see rusty lanterns, water wheels, red rock formations, and you hear classic western tunes like ‘The Ballad of Davy Crockett.’ The next moment you’re standing in front of a shiny Tie Fighter and watching Storm Troopers interrogate people, and you’re not entirely sure when it changed.

Pretty magical, eh?

Cake Bake is basically girl heaven. It’s gorgeous, friendly, covered in glitter, and has incredible food. I got to go for breakfast recently and had the best experience.

How to get the most out of early entry!

1.) Be Early. Yes, I know, you’re already early for Early Entry. I would generally plan to be queuing up about a half hour before Early Entry begins.

Cast Members will begin scanning guests in and allow them to proceed up to a certain point on Main Street. Making sure you’re already on Main Street when Early Entry starts can set you UP for the rest of the day. If you can keep one step ahead of the crowds, you’ll find yourself with super low waits.

2.) Make sure you know what attractions are open for Early Entry! The park might be open, but not all the lands or rides are. There is always going to be a current list on Disney’s website, but you can pretty much expect the attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland to be operational.

3.) Positioning. This is a hyper specific one. If you want to rush onto one of those Tier 1 attractions and avoid waiting in line later or paying for a Lightning Lane, position yourself at the entrance of the land you want to enter before the park opens to the public.

By then, hundreds of guests have been waiting on Main Street for the park to open. Soon they’re going to funnel towards those Tier 1 rises just like you. Maintain your headstart by beating the rest of the crowds to that hot attraction.

Here are 3 non-obvious things to keep in your Disney Bag!

Cushioned Medical Tape- even if you are wearing in your comfy and broken in shoes, 12 hours on your feet can is a different story. Keeping a roll of cushy-foamy-medical tape in your bag can save you if something is rubbing the wrong way.

Cash- Yes! Sometimes you need cash in Disney! This is going to come up at your resort. Anytime bell services holds bags or packages, and housekeeping services. (Or Mousekeeping as it’s officially known) I like to keep small envelopes of cash so I’m not caught off guard or forget.

Ziploc Bags- Ziplocs come in handy way more often than you might think! They’re great for wet ponchos, waterproofing devices, and organizing. If you book a dessert party and can’t finish your snacks, save some of those pastries and berries for the morning with your handy ziploc!!

These items made the list from literal experiences I have had, learn from my mistakes!

You spent months planning, you saved up, and you’re so excited to finally be there, but it’s pouring!!

Here’s 5 things to consider when it looks like rain 🌧️

1.) Planning for weather can start before you even book your trip! Research weather patterns for your best chances for good weather. For example, June is generally Orlando’s rainiest month, while November-January are historically the driest. If you want to avoid rain, book within the dry or dry/adjacent months.

2.) This is another reason why choosing the right resort is so key! You may end up spending more time there than you had originally planned. Many resorts have awesome hangout spots where you can enjoy a snack and visit with your group. My favorite way to spend a rainy day is to grab a bottle of wine from somewhere, wear pajamas, and watch Disney movies in my room 💛

3.) Rain can happen randomly! Come prepared for your park day at the very least with ponchos and a change of socks.

4.) Have a game plan! Decide ahead of time what you’ll do if your park day gets rained out. Want to hit up a lounge? Or explore a resort? When you see the sky turning black, you execute your plan. You’ll be glad you’re ahead of the crowds scrambling to find somewhere indoors to be or piling into the Disney transportation. Even a few minutes can make a difference between being settled where you want to be and standing out in the rain for a long time.

5.) The parks can be really fun when it’s raining too! Indoor rides will still be running (unless there’s lightning in the area) and the wait time will be next to nothing. One time at California Adventure it was pouring and we rode Guardians of the Galaxy 15x in a row and it was amazing. So maybe you’d rather dance in the puddles and enjoy the low to no crowds!

Character Meals!

Let’s talk about it. Character meals aren’t right for every group, but they can be loads of fun for the right audience!

Here’s what you should keep in mind.

1.) Type of Characters- not every character dining experience has the same characters! Are you looking for princesses, or the classic gang? Do you want to see a villain, or the hundred-acre-wood family? Make sure you know which characters you want to see!

2.) Cost- These are always a prix fixe pricing model, so know what you’ll expect to pay beforehand so you avoid sticker shock. Looking ahead of time can help you decide if character dining is something you want include in your vacation budget.

🔥hot tip🔥 Breakfast is always going to be less expensive than lunch or dinner.

3.) Table Service or Buffet?- You have a few options. At Crystal Palace, Hollywood and Vine, and Goofy’s Kitchen are all get-up-walk-around-and-choose-your-food situations.

Garden Grill and Ohana are all-you-care-to-enjoy and cast members bring the dishes to your table for a family style experience.

Topolino’s Terrace, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and Storybook Dining are table service experiences, where you choose a specific dish.

4.) Type of Food- There is so much variety! Tusker House has tandoori chicken, naan, and curries. Chef Mickey’s has macaroni and cheese, steak, and roasted turkey.
