Hacienda memories

Our final show, remastered and revisited. Available now on bandcamp

Link in bio. by @new.fads

Original Source of inspiration.
At the outset we were fascinated with advertising copy and, commodification so we incorporated Dada cut up style into the lyrics to remake and change the meaning.

Honestly not our favourite venue but was our biggest show to date. That big cavernous room was hard to project, but the show occurred at the height of that Made in Manchester buzz that the city had and in the end it was a fantastic celebration of all that and our journey thus far.
Thanks to @rookie_matt_01 for supplying.
Pls hit us up with memories and photos. Xx by @new.fads

“The New Fad”

Midtfyns is where we met Bob Dylan’s wife. Or so she said…It was a massive festival in Denmark with Mr Dylan playing.

Whilst we were busy back stage in a field that resembled the Somme working our way through crates of Carlsberg, a festival steward brought in a woman in her 40’s in a floaty summer dress, suitcase, floppy hat and announced it was Bob Dylans wife.

1/2hr later same steward comes back and boots her out shouting at her that she’d lied. Apparently she stalked him round Europe with the same story everywhere.

We headlined in a huge tent going on after Germany’s biggest blues act ‘Roaring” Jack McTiger. We brought the house down, amazing gig with a lot of fun and games afterwards 😉 by @new.fads

The Fender Jaguar used on the Hacienda recording in the hands of my good friend Tracy Godding of Bandit Queen and Sister Bardot fame.

Amazing instrument which was to her for a snip as I had previously (also at a snip) sold her my Telecaster which she recorded and toured the US with. However she announced to me one day she was selling the Tele to buy a Jaguar.

I had great sentimental memories of the Tele, my first really good guitar so I swapped and Tracy ended up with the Jag and
me with the Tele which I still have to this day.

The Jag (for you aficionados ) is a 1965 with the mods you can see on it - humbucker
pickup , different bridge but the ‘dead ringing thwank (?)” sound on “Its Not What You
Know” and on Body Exit Mind “Music” all come from playing behind the bridge.

Still miss it and wonder who has it now 🤔as Tracy eventually sold it.
